Akolibed has set the very first 1.6K PP Play with a HDDT FC on Valley of The Vale! He is now the person to have set the very first 1.5k, 1.6k and 1.7k PP Play in osu! (which includes the current pp record). Because of this play the difference between him and Mrekk is only 313pp. Will he finally be able to pass Mrekk and become the next number 1 player?

say you have 5 300 pp plays the 5th one will give less raw pp than the 1st because it shows youre proficient enough to get multiple. same thing just with higher pp amounts

​@0Snack0 To further clarify, pp is calculated by getting the weighted value of your top 100 scores. Your top score will count to all pp, of your top score is 1700 pp then all that pp will count to your pp in profile. The pp that you can get will slowly decrease from each score further down until its worth nothing. In this case, Accolibed is a top player setting many 1000 pp scores, 300 pp is worth nothing to him. As n3rdiness said he needs 6 1.3k pp scores, 2 1.4k pp scores or a single 1.6k+ pp score to aquire that 300 pp deficit.

He's indeed better, but only within a specific skillset, which is now meta. WhiteCat used to be #1 when aim meta was here, then mrekk came, having a crazy wide-ranged skillset, and now it's Akolibed, a stream meta player coming for #1. Just saying: Akolibed is a great player, but he's not better than mrekk in skillsets like aim or tech. And even though Akolibed is great at controlling high bpm like 280 and above, mrekk is still able to do it as well, he shown us that by setting a pp record on Save Me, or fcing Owari.

​@@Tenkotataii Owari and L'erisia are a different type of map that require less stamina but higher raw speed, which is what mrekk and Ivaxa are good at Once the current speed flowaim meta gets nerfed, those maps will be the new meta They take advantage of a generous scaling that the star rating system gives for jumps/streams above 300bpm (though the impact is only really seen at 340+) Once more people gain that skillset I think it will become a pretty widespread meta both for players and for mappers
