Darius grew up in South Carolina listening to all kinds of music. He formed a band in the 90s with college buddies which became hugely successful and after they broke up he decided he wanted to tap into his country roots but wasn't sure how the country music community would accept him and if those that knew him as Hootie would like his style of country music. Well, as a fellow Gen X'er who also grew up listening to all kinds of music and can readily alternate listening to rock, pop, country, classical, R&B, Latin, and oldies, I was excited to hear Darius sing country songs for the first time. I love how country music tells stories that are relatable to the common man and as I get older I find myself turning to country music more than the other genres that I still love. I was just hoping that he would be successful and that he'd release songs that would fit into the 90s style of country music and not the latest "Bro Country" fad which has little lasting value. Well, not only did he release great music but his songs are a perfect blend of who he is and what he wants to say. His voice lends itself well to the genre and he surrounds himself with great musicians. My favorite of his songs are It Won't Be Like This For Long, If I Yold You, So I Sang, and Come Back Song.

This song 🎶🔥 & hope women who have a good man appreciate & support them the way they NEED to be supported!! Some of us weren't and aren't so fortunate & don't have fathers who care or have to raise & support them alone so it tears my💔apart that when they have it, they aren't appreciate it😤 Just don't tell these young men not to cry, men need to cry too...I'm in depression/anxiety grp that used to be even sexes or more women showing up but forward 5-6 yrs, our group is 2-3 women & 5-7 men on any given week... glad to see men getting help too but they need it at home too 🙏💞🫶

Darius was lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish when I was young & they were good but he went solo & switched to country🎶 & became even more popular (I think bc I never really listened to much country, exc most mainstream, til Chris Stapleton came along)
