Em really knows how to touch your heart...make laugh...make you cry....etc. Hailie said that her parents did such a good job hiding the bad stuff...... she didn't really know until she was older. That says a lot about them as parents. They obviously did a great job raising these girls.

After my daughter was born she spent 3 months in the NICU. She was in a hospital 4 hours away from where I live that I could only spend weekends with her because of work. I would listen to this song on my way home from seeing her and just bawl my eyes out because I hated leaving her and her mom like that. I agree with Karen 100%, there were some Birthdays/Christmases/Holidays my dad wasn't home, especially if he was on a rig in another state, but things were always from Mama and Daddy. Hailie has said that they did shelter the kids, she doesn't know or realize how it was until she looks back at 'archive' footage, Nate probably knew more than the other 3, just because of his age when Marshall went to get him. I hear the lyrics and he's just riddled with guilt, hearing from looking back and he was so much harder on himself than he needed to be but as a parent, I completely get it. We try and sometimes we succeed at some of it, but not all of it. 💟

My favorite song if Till I collapse. It's on his recovery album and he talks about battling his demons. You have done before his recovery and this is like a theme song on not giving up. Have you guys done toy soldiers.i was crying with you girl. I think about my kids hearing this. My greatest achievement on this earth is my kids and our legacy. You have to play Till I collapse.i want to see her reaction.I was a single parent and worked nights and twelve hours shifts or more. My oldest son had to be more responsible to help and he never said nothing but now that he is older he has some resentment but I never told children adult businesses because they were kids. I second guess maybe I should of told them what was going on..I thought I was protecting them. I pray one day for healing for him and us. I had to work for them. I wish he could see that. I wanted them to have good life's and they do. I sacrificed relationships to take them camping, sports, monster trucks, fishing. They all three turned out good men. Good jobs and families.i was kinda shocked about it but I pray you God every day.
