Akrapovic Exhaust Install and Sound Clips on a RSQ8 and X6 M50i ($30k Worth of Exhaust)

The RSQ8 and X6 are some of the highest end full size SUVs on the market so we are installing the top of the line Titanium Akrapovic Exhaust on both of these V8 TT beasts. Let us know in the comments what exhaust you think sounds better.

The X6 has a much sportier and refined sound. I was hoping they'd be quieter when the valve is closed.

How do you control those valves?

@@JTSX1 so the ‘engine sound’ option on my m50 is not the valve switch but the ADS?

@@Lvtinstallion these cars also have fake intake sound and the engine sound setting controls that. From what I've read, the exhaust is louder at higher revs and you also get more crackling at idle when the valve is open.

@@JTSX1 but I’ve told that they only put those in the smaller I6 engines but on the V8 they don’t do that so the sound setting actually controls the valves. It’s so confusing.

Correct. We had to make some modifications to the factory exhaust to get it to bolt up.

@@hardparkedperformance3928 Hi! I'll be collecting my X6M50i from BMW at the start of februari and want to install an Akrapovic exhaust system on it. However, I don't like the way it looks, I prefer a clean (stock) look. Is it possible to install the Akrapovic system and keep the exhaust tips of the stock exhaust?

@@Simonde4e That would not be a problem. You would just keep the stock tips instead if using the ones supplied.

Unfortunately it doesn't really matter what you do to these turbo engines. They still sound terrible compared to N/A or S/C. In my opinion, putting an exhaust on such a car is a waist of money.

It's really only putting a downpipe that will give you a desired sound on turbo charged cars
