Aksis 3 Man at 360 Light

This group never got to experience the joy of going into Aksis at lower than recommended light levels day 1, so we recreated the fun.
Completed by Epicookiez, Rpotts, and sc Slayerage in 9 hours or so. We also did the rest of the raid, but compared to this, it just wasn't the same.

eh it really depends on how well your team communicated, i breezed trough the raid almost flawless on the last reset day with most people being 370+ and maybe 1 380+ and a 368 guy. tried it yesterday with a new group, my 372 hunter was the lowest light (nice people but less good at games i guess) who where all geared pretty decently but they didnt fully understood the mechanics all that well and we had bad communication. needles to say it took us 5 hours to get to axis and we didnt even beat him in the end.......

Just a note - I've tested devil;'s dawn and event horizon (vendor roll with explosive rounds) and event horizon beats it damage-wise because of the explosive rounds. A similar thing happens with scout rifles- see badger ccl or hand of judgment being able to 1 shot shanks with explosive rounds, where as the raid scout cannot (both at 380 light). I'd recommend changing your loadout for efficiency.

That is because ER adds 50% extra damage, it has been known for a while. Devils' Dawn however does also give increased damage to fallen, though Aksis for some reason does not count as a fallen which is also why Outbreak Primes' nanites do considerably less to him then to a boss like Vosik

When you slam on aksis, did the other two empoweres need to stand where he would have teleported i.e spawned right ,slamming while the other two stand on back mid and left spots?

When Aksis teleports one of the "Servitor sacrifice plates" will glow red for a short time. It will never be on the same side that Aksis teleports to, so if Aksis teleports to left the glowing plate will be mid or right. Before aksis is stunned an empowered player can hold X/Square on the glowing plate to supercharge the entire team, which also gives full grenade/melee energy. We all split up every time to cover all 3 supercharge spots, even if Aksis was on our side since when he teleports away the supercharge plate could be on that side. This requires whoever is covering middle to cover both back and bottom middle teleports, FYI.

His teleport animation, where he disintegrates to red particles, telegraphs which way he's going. It's hard to tell when he's going mid sometimes, so I usually didn't call it out.

I've got a question if anyone can answer it. Would my 1000 yard stare with tripletap and spray and play be able to out damage the Devil's dawn? They have the same attack power.

The longer you have to DPS the better the 1000 yard becomes, but if you only have a short window, like maybe you use all your cannon shots, then all your heavy ammo, then only have a few seconds to shoot sniper ammo, then Devil's Dawn would win because of the higher impact for more burst DPS.

Since the cannons only have 2 modes you don't have to hold them down as long as he does (does the same damage as when the projectile lights up). Wonder if he knows this and just waits for convenience or detonating early not giving an advantage.

One of the spots where Aksis doesn't teleport to is randomly chosen. So if he goes mid the red aura will either be on left or right, not both. It will never be the same side he teleports to.

when you shoot, you have to hold the trigger (RT/R2) instead of letting go. like even letting go a little will make it blow but holding for 2 seconds will fully charge it for at least the servitors

I tried explaining this to some members of my clan when the raid released day one that around this light level, is going to be hectic, and will most likely spend 3+ hours. Does weapon Light Level matter? If your weapon is 390 but your overall is 360, does that do more damage than all 360 gear?

Both matter. A 390 weapon at 360 light is going to be stronger than a 370 weapon at 360 light, just like how when you were gearing up a 340 was stronger than a 300 weapon at 330 light.

From what I know, your weapon being 390 means it will do more damage, but you're still going to get penalized for being a lower LL than Aksis/the Siege Encounter enemies. So your weapon being 390, with an overall LL of 380+, will secure the most damage possible right now. This is based on some old information though, so don't quote me on it.
