@@briansilva3765 I was going to mention that as well. Interesting they went with him carving smaller versions. The big ones form the anime looked like tombs. I find it interesting Capcom went all in on the smile/laugh motif for his ending and World tour mode. Capcom is on to something.

It also reminds me of the sculptor in Sekiro. How he would carve to reveal something inside himself, but only ever carved faces of rage. I think Akuma did, too, until this one came out smiling. Perhaps it shows he has found something new within himself. Or accepted it fully.

Everyone dislikes the story, but I really enjoy Akuma’s story. He’s enjoying the fight with Ryu, vs only seeing it as a duty or thing to uphold. It’s nice fluff to flesh out Akuma a bit, and I like the peaceful statue carvings ending. That’s just me though

I think the susano of Oni when Akuma punches the statue is showing how he has control over the hado to the point where he has the strengths of Oni, but has complete control over himself. I prefer this tbh, even though I do like the concept of Oni. Realistically Akuma would never let himself be that over taken by the hado. He even calls himself the Master of it. You can't master something if it can easily control you.

Feels like Akuma is considering that maybe killing all your good competition isn't as good as having a rival to constantly sharpen yourself against. There's a purity in a fight to the death, in that it guarantees everybody is using every last ounce of their strength. But then there's Ryu, who proves you can earnestly fight your hardest without that kind of wrath. He's resolute, maybe even resolved to die, but that doesn't mean he seeks death.

​@becks3six9 It's mainly because Ryu learned the mu no ken and found a path that doesn't need to rely on the satsui no hado. Once Ryu eventually surpasses Akuma, it will be with a technique that no one in their world has seen before and Akuma is excited about when it comes.

I would like for Akuma to take on a disciple, and I kinda hope it's a girl, if he does. Surely he's aware that he wont live forever, and the Satsui No Hado will overtake him eventually. If he has nothing to leave behind, how will the world ever know he was the "Master of the fist"? All the battles he fought, the labors he performed, the knowledge and training he attained while he was still alive/had his humanity would have been for nothing if he doesn't leave a legacy.

Well what do you expect from Akuma, he is much like Ryu and just looks for the next fight nothing more. His admiration of was before was to face Ryu at equal terms when he succum to the Satsui No Hadou but after the events of SFV he achieved the power of nothingness. Even in SF4 Gouken where he still lives just hinders that to Akuma and Ryu is not so much vindictive towards Akuma for "trying" to murder his master. The only reason Akuma is back is by the popular demand by the fanbase(not Capcom) to wanting him back cause "AkUma's CoOL!!!"

@@alejandroramirez4470 Well, Kazuya doesn't beat him. THE final cutscene, when Kazuya and Akuma clash, is left open for interpretation and future possibilities. Right now, they don't address that in Tekken, or show what happened to Akuma, because he's not a guest character anymore and there are, therefore, legal (not story) reasons, as to why they don't mention him anymore. So, the fact that Kazuya is alive and Akuma isn't brought up after that final clash, doesn't mean that he lost - again, legal nuances.

Why does Capcom continue to force this senseless Akuma vs Ryu? Akuma has 0 reasons to fight Ryu now, he was only interested in Ryu to make him succumb to the Satsui no Hadou that Ryu doesn't have, adding that Gouken is alive so he has no reasons, It's the same old thing, he defeats Ryu again and leaves, something that has already happened, they would have tried something like he was trying to convince Ken to use the Satsui no Hadou that would have been more logical than a glorified fight for no reason with Ryu.
