Akuma was never evil, Ryu and Ken believe hes evil bcuz he killed their master, and use the Dark Hado. But he just believes if you fight someone, you must fight to the end. Even their master agreed with his vision and accepted his challenge to the death, sadly, without them knowing. Akuma follows the code of the Dark warrior, to kill those who are worthy opponents, but hold back and spare those weaker than you. To never harm somebody unarmed, and to never commit felonies just because of your might and desire.

I had the Prima Games Street Fighter Alpha 2 guide book that featured concept art from development. It didnt show Akuma hanging out with friends, but there was an illustration of Akuma sitting cross legged on tje ground, selling fruit to a young boy. It shows that although he abandoned his humanity he's still a mortal being that sometimes plays by societies rules.

Imagine Oro shows Akuma just how weal he is them it make Akuma spiral no longer seeking strength through power but it's Elena who reignited his burning desire to become the master of fists. Wild right?
