Al Green is timeless. This was the music my mother grew up to, and consequently got stuck listening to as a wee lad in the 80's and 90's. At one point my living situation in college found me and students I roomed with enjoying spirits and singing oldies such as Let's Stay Together. My hope is that today's young folk don't forget about Al Green.

I remember listening to this and other Al Green songs when I was a kid, on a long road trip down I-5 from the Bay Area to LA. Nothing to do in the back seat and listen to music my parents played. It's funny how things like music imprint themselves in a young mind. To this day, now almost in my 60's, I still associate listen to Al Green on a long road trip with nothing else to do but enjoy the hell out of it.
