I'm Still in Love with You is the fifth studio album by the American gospel and soul singer Al Green, released on October 23, 1972, on Hi Records. Recording sessions took place during 1972. The album was produced solely by Willie Mitchell. The album peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200 and number one on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and produced four singles: "Love and Happiness" which was rated ninety-eight on Rolling Stones's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time as well as "I'm Still in Love with You" and "Look What You Done for Me" which were top five hits on the US Pop Chart. In 2003, the album was ranked number 285 on the 500 greatest albums of all time by Rolling Stone, 286 in a 2012 revised list,[1] and number 306 in a 2020 revised list.[2] The introductory drum break to the album's second track, "I'm Glad You're Mine", was sampled by The Notorious B.I.G. in his later-posthumous single Dead Wrong.

The interesting fact around your Barry Gibb comment is that one of Al's best loved ballads, How Do You Mend A Broken Heart, is actually a cover of a 60s Bee Gees hit. Al arrived on the scene in the early 70s, but the vocal influence question is an intriguing one.

I love this song. I also love "I'm a Ram"(1971) by Al Green. "I'm a Ram " is surprisingly more rock the R&B but still a great song. You should give it a listen.

I was raised on this music. My mother had many musical loves, Al was number one, then B B King and Stevie Ray Vaughan. She always said she felt like Al was singing to her. We finally had the chance to take her to see him for her 50th birthday and she got to go to the stage where he took her hand and blew her a kiss. She was in heaven. We lost her 22years ago and as much as I love this music, I cry when I hear it now because I miss her so much but I still listen because it was a part of her. I loved your reaction to this as I do all your videos. I hope you'll do more Al. Thanks.
