This is a tremendous and terrible truth…. In this case I can't console myself by saying "life goes on" , all we can do is trying to give another life to these special and unforgetable men by listening every day to their music, on and on… Thank You all for the magic you gave us….

My heart is in shock to hear of George Ducks passing. Such a wonderful artists gone too soon. I remember him well at Soul to Soul in Oakland and then Sunday in the Redwoods. He allowed me to take as many pictures of him as I wanted and of course one with him. Memories I will continue to cherish!. Wow!

Wow! Amazing version! Thanks for share it! #AcidJazz

When I see this I can't help thinking' where the world is coming to without such artistry as they are almost all but a few gone. It makes me a bit sad but I am glad to have been here during a time with such Masters as they don't nurture great artistry today. The Recording Industry has long forgotten why they went into this business a long time ago and are just Money makers today. When the Suits took over they killed the Music Business as they are killing the Bank Business today.
@natiprot696 жыл бұрын
Derfunkmeister music business has always been about money, even from the 1700s. Sometimes more, sometimes less, it's not like there was a precise moment the 'suits' took over and from then on everything was bad, there is still awesome music nowadays and in the 60s 70s you too had moneygrabbing tunes that weren't that good. The bad ones are forgotten, that's why everybody says music was better back then. It's because we remember the good tunes not the bad

wendy rains wendy rains 0 seconds ago I must say that as beautiful a depiction of Al Jarreau as this is.....the one element that is so obviously missing is Patrick Rains,,,,the Manager who was the first person to instantly recognize such a talent, and do something about it. I know because I was there....and right from the start. I married Patrick Rains, who had the wherewithal to know that what Al was doing was unprecedented in the "Music Industry" at that time. There was no category that existed for the industry to place and market someone like Al. But Pat saw his unique talent and took it on. Later on, because of all the musicians he also found who didn't have a "category", he basically should be credited with coining one..."Smooth Jazz". Some of the artists he managed fell into that category....like David Sanborn and Marcus Miller. It was a new kind of jazz revolution that he deserves credit for. And as for all the artists he went on to manage and support, in various categories of music...those early ones are the ones who bring tears to my eyes. So glad there are videos of their early performances. We traveled the world together and brought their music to thousands of people and I will forever be grateful for being a part of all that. Wendy Rains
