I just lost the love of my life ( husband) on February 7, 2024. We had a love we could not explain. I have always loved this song and now that he's gone, I now know that I never will be able to or have to explain our love. The boundaries were deep and the love was Real. I dont believe I will ever love this way again.

I'm not African American but I had a love affair with the culture ever since I was very little and adore this song. I remember seeing Do the Right Thing in Theaters as a child and although I didn't recall this song from the soundtrack rediscovering after it aired on HBO recently was amazing. I had to hunt this song down sadly its very hard to find and was on the original Do The Right Thing soundtrack which has been out of print for many years now. Thank You.

I am checking out all the tracks that have strings arrangements by Clare Fischer, using the Wikipedia Discography page for him, and I am loving it! He should have been better known. Chaka Khan, the Jackson 5, Brian McKnight, Prince...lots of others. You might love the strings at the end of Chaka Khan "Egyptian Song" too. Fischer was taking ideas from Shostakovich and the 20th century Russian symphonic composers.

I saw Al doing a promotion in his early career as a singer at a music store in Greenwich village in the late 70's, I have love his music and his voice and range on this song. Cathy Block did some exquisite writing on this piece. This song with it's orchestration combined with Al's singing brings me to a point where you feel every movement of the strings. It takes you to a place of tranquility "I was looking thru the window of my life today, and for the first time I saw things in a different way in the middle of mind it was there all the time...Never Explain Love" simply wonderful.
