So nice to hear Jolson and Judy together. Never knew they sang together!

Two of the ultimate greats in (I think) their only musical colabiration. The music part was short but boy was it fantastic to hear the vocal combination of Al & Judy. Brilliant !!!

I quite agree with you. While Judy appeared with Al in the 1939 Arrowhead Springs broadcast, here they sang together. Imagine what a thrill it must have been for Judy to sing with Al Jolson--a girl who started out in Vaudeville.

Somebody said that, beside Jolson himself, only Judy Garland could sing Al Jolson songs.

Judy certainly picked up the mantle that Jolson left behind, and also died far too young. "There was Al Jolson. Then there was Judy Garland. Then they broke the mold." Not sure whose quote

Reviewing Judy Garland's Carnegie Hall concert, the Hollywood Reporter said: “There is Judy Garland. And there was Al Jolson. And then the mold is broken!” Hope you enjoy these Video Podcasts and subscribe to the channel, and check the website at www.jolson.org for more. Thanks.

Two of the greatest entertainers ever to grace the stage; Judy was a close second to Jolson but Jolie just had that extra magic! That said this a great show featuring the both of them and you really can’t compare them.

Excuse me, Terry. How many troops did Judy Garland entertain. Jolson did three wars. He had the greatest following of all.
@terrygrant34676 жыл бұрын
+Richard Nicoletti I don't know how many troops she entertained, I know she was on almost all radio shows dedicated to the military, plus she entertained hundred's of thousands of our men and women of our military, here and abroad. Jolie was a great entertainer, no argument. But, Judy had that something extra, she made you feel as though she was singing directly to you. She could make you laugh, cry, or just feel. She was funny, and told stories between songs. She could charm her audience's out of their minds. Judy loved her audience, and they knew it.Jolie was great, Judy was the greatest.
