He said it was what sold the most tickets so it was what was the best match (I can say on a certain level I agree with that but on a completely realistic level he is so far off that it's almost painful). To be more specific, Snow was booked to go over, but towards the end of the match, Dirty Dick Slater started throwing a series of stiff shoot punches, and some pretty snug working punches. The WWE sent Black Bart out to interfere, and Bart and Dirty Dick Slater proceeded to attack Snow with legitimate stiff shoot punches, and a TON of snug working punches.

Al Snow was a former European Champion, 6 time Hardcore Champion, and World Tag Team Champion. Not many real jobbers (local jobbers) can even lay claim to having a list of accomplishments in the WWE like that. At best, he might have been a jobber to the stars which is a step above.

@@whtevr84 Considering the European title was once held by men like Shawn Michaels, Owen Hart and British Bulldog, it still meant something. Those three names alone make a good enough lineage for any champion to follow even if they fail to become main eventers. To say otherwise would be to piss on the legacies of the Hall of Famers I just mentioned. Regardless, no real (local) jobber/competitor would ever win as many matches or hold the number of titles (worthless or not) as Al Snow did. Did he lose more matches than he won? Yes but to call him a jobber is a gross misuse of the word. That word gets thrown around way too much and way too easily these days. Mostly by young fans who probably didn't watch wrestling before the 2000's and the rise of John Cena. A low card roster jobber is more like Brooklyn Brawler or Jim Powers. At worst, Al Snow was more of a lower mid card wrestler on the roster in his heyday. He was still mildly successful compared to many other so called "jobbers" in the business during that time.

So, the misconception that he was nothing more than a jobber and was not successful. A guy who talks about how the only thing that matters is being well known, getting heat and making money. And then talks about how people had never heard of him until he was in ECW, even though he had been working FIFTEEN YEARS (not true but OK) before joining ECW. By his own philosophy on success, how do you work for over 15 years and nobody knows who you are? You must've not have been very successful.

The business of pro wrestling was much different when he first started back in the 80's. Kayfabe was still alive and ticking. It was the land of the giants. Guys were much bigger and larger than life with their characters. In those days, it was much harder for guys like him to break through the ceiling and gain recognition and fame for their work inside the ring and out. Al Snow only started to break through somewhat in the late 90's when kayfabe finally died and the Attitude Era took off.
