There was a famous case of a woman who was murdered while jogging. The man who killed her was later apprehended. Her family insisted that it couldn't have been just one man, because she was a martial arts expert and would have fought him. The killer heard this and was like, "Yeah, she did fight. She should have run." But people won't spend 3 to 6 months training (and paying) to get the next color belt for their gi if they're taught that running like hell is the best way to survive.

I stumbled upon Blackman in a Rite Aid a few years back. We had a very cordial, 5-minute, conversation. Obviously, he wasn't there to talk to me and I was a little bit concerned about detaining him from his business, but he never acted like it bothered him at all to talk to a fan. In fact his girlfriend showed up and ask him to move along, but instead he introduced me to her and told her some of the conversation we had just had. He even ended the conversation by thanking me for recognising him. I hope that doesn't break the image of him carried by almost everyone. 😉👌

Steve is from my hometown. Still has an mma school. Was very important in growing the mma scene in central Pennsylvania when it took off. Also one of the few guys my uncle who was a tough mf, wouldnt make fun on when he saw em on tv. He said he was absolutely a bad ass. Known well in the area before he made it to wwf. At my very first bouncer job, there was a guy who there who was 6'7", 270lbs, and he got taken down and pummled on 3 occasions by dudes far smaller than him. At one of the last places I bounced, I worked with a dude who was about 6'4" 250lbs, and he got taken down an beat up by dudes who were way smaller than him ...one of the last confrontations I got into as a bouncer was with a dude who was at least 6'6", a little drunk and really angry, and I "escorted" him out the front door. (I'm only 6') ...i learned in my bouncer days that size does not matter, and, a lot of guys who are huge never learn to fight because they have always relied on their size. (also, taking out the knees with a kick was my favorite move #BlackmanStyle) You'd think if Bradshaw was going to be such a raging asshole, he'd at least learn to fight! When Joey Styles knocks you out, it's time to rethink your ways.

It's funny you mention this, because it was all due to the serendipity of a bag being in just the right place for Steve to get his foot caught that prevented Bradshaw from becoming a cripple. Crazy.
