I am nearly always the youngest person at any Al Stewart concert, but damn do I love him. I am barely into lyrics in general, but so many of his songs have lines that bury themselves into my brain forever.

First Heard Al Stewart when I was 14, am now 54 and still have too hear anyone write better lyrics. Why has the music industry rewarded him - lack of chart success ?

Al's first TV performance filmed in 'Bunjies' Litchfield Street London in 1965 for BBC TV 'Outcasts and Outsiders' - playing his first acoustic guitar an Epiphone Texan. For more info on 60s Al Stewart: 'Bournemouth A Go! Go!' with a foreword written by Al.

Thanks for posting. Saw this on BBC4 and was astonished. The contrast with the album version (which the producers covered in syrup an sparkles, probably in the hope that no-one would listen to the words) is startling.
