Al Stewart never gets the credit he deserves, and either does Peter White. The two are absolutely fantastic here as always.

One of the best songs I heard the last years. It is sad to see that Al Stewart is such an underrated musician...

Better lyrics than 90% of modern hip hop, catchier tune as well, simply one of the most under-rated songs ever! Though you'd have a job explaining it to Richard Coeur de lion...

Good song. Peter White is a great organist! And keyboardist! And guitarist! I love Al Stewart!

In 2009, Al Stewart spoke about “Soho (Needless To Say)” (1973), saying that the piece is “mindbogglingly complicated” and that “the words come really, really fast. He added : “I have no idea why I wrote it; I was probably reading W.H. Auden [1907 - 1973] at the time…”

An incredible song writer. Fascinating subjects mixed with high quality lyrics and even higher quality composition. Remarkable talent.

The last 30 seconds of this song with the organ thrashing it out sounds unreal

Good picture & sound quality ... you could almost be there:) 'Soho ..' came out in '73 and he says it was from about 5 years ago so that would make this 1978. Al was great .... and a bit risqué too with his line at 2:15 :D

if subterranean homesick blues had been written in london, it would have sounded like this.

One of my fave songs from a very underrated artist. So glad I was able to see him perform live in a smaller venue. And of course Peter White is beyond compare as a guitarist. Had no idea he was a virtuoso organist! Sincere thanks for posting.
