Paint Rock Agate is sometimes called Dripping Springs Agate or Greasy Cove Agate. Paint Rock Agate occurs in the Paint Rock Valley on the Cumberland Plateau near the Alabama and Tennessee border. Paint Rock Agate has colors of yellow, orange, white, red, black, gray, and blue with banding or quartz formation at the center of the nodule occasionally occurring. Cut and polished it is semi translucent.
