Alabama Rock Hunting - Paint Rock Agate, Jackson Co. Alabama - March 17, 2024

Come with us on another trip into the Paint Rock Valley in Jackson County Alabama and up the mountains to around 1300 to 1500 feet to find beautiful Paint Rock Agate.
Paint Rock Agate is sometimes called Dripping Springs Agate or Greasy Cove Agate. Paint Rock Agate occurs in the Paint Rock Valley on the Cumberland Plateau near the Alabama and Tennessee border. Paint Rock Agate has colors of yellow, orange, white, red, black, gray, and blue with banding or quartz formation at the center of the nodule occasionally occurring. Cut and polished it is semi translucent.

Beautiful rocks and mountain too we used to wander that old mountain a week at a time but you can't go all the way across anymore

I live in Skyline, overlooking Paint Rock Valley. I'll never leave this area! Known as the Amazon of Southeast America and the most beautiful place to be during spring and fall. We also have enough foraging plants, berries, and mushrooms for food and medicine to survive on for a full human lifespan. Oh and most of these plants fight and prevent cancer.

@@jonahvitollo4622 1300 to 1500 feet is the sweet spot and hit the washouts on the mountain. You should find plenty of PRA! Good luck!
