They blow it,and they become extremely cocky and lose their drive...you learn how to manage life and money while attending college,and then when you get the big pay day,you are better suited to make the right moves with your money.Many people, will now not make it to the NFL, simply because it'll be extremely hard to keep producing at that high level and then those players will find it unfair that they spent their money and also didn't make the NFL cut (because people don't take responsibility for their own actions much anymore)but if done right, you may be bettrr prepared, because you had money to learn with...but its by extreme technicalities.I mean while those players that didn't make the money,busted their ass those years and now will be NFL caliber players,and thus make the bigger payday and most likely learned how to make their money work for them,rather than work for the money...Im almost sure that this is all in favor of the NFL making more money and not having to pay players as much as they do now...because the money has already started coming in..so the reward will be less and it'll benefit the NFL...Nothing in this world comes to us,unless it is making someone higher up more money or they are gaining something in general.🤷🏻 guess we will see 👀. @drizzle4522 жыл бұрын
Again, it’s very different. NFL teams actually have salary caps and college teams do in theory; but not really because the illegitimate booster money is insulated under the guise of NIL among other schemes. College teams/boosters/alumni will essentially have to donate their life savings to give to their favorite football teams a chance to win…and there’s roughly 10-15 schools in the country that can buy a championship team. Conferences will have to be broken down into their gross revenue brackets. Many schools could conceivably forfeit programs because they won’t even be in the same league financially…I’m very much a capitalist, but it still needs to be regulated when loopholes have been exploited for years. The big boys have had such a head start financially that they will crush the poorer schools into submission. And in case we lost perspective, these “businesses” are still schools that still have an obligation to preparing the thousands attending their schools for work and life. He is defending the NCAA due to Mark Emmert haha: Emmert even met on LSU's behalf with the NCAA, which accepted LSU's findings. But after Emmert decided to leave LSU in 2004, a witness testified in a deposition that the instructor was telling the truth and that the problems were far more systemic than the school admitted, even extending to grades being changed for football players, according to court records. The culture was "appalling" and "like Romper Room," the employee said in 2004 testimony.

There’s a right and a wrong way to do this. The model described by Saban is how it should be done and the model being followed by A&M goes against everything that is right about college football. That being said I believe in the end A&M is going to suffer bc of it. There not going to get the type of high character kids you need to build a title winning team. Saban never payed players?

@lastofthefinest2 жыл бұрын
Let me say first, I love coach Saban. My thing about paying players is that after most players finish their college careers at their respective schools, they have nothing to show for it but maybe a college degree. In today's world, people don't care that someone is a college graduate other than a college graduate and their families. I take pride that I am a college graduate. I attended the University of Alabama, Jacksonville State University, and graduated from Troy University. It took me awhile because I was still serving in the military during the War on Terror and kept getting deployed. I served in the Marine Corps and Army for 10 years collectively and I'm now a disabled OEF, so I know the life of a struggling college student. I was the first person in my family to graduate high school and college. I've personally seen the effects on a player after having a great college playing career then turning to drugs and crime. I believe at one time in their lives, they did not intend for things to turn out that way and they once had hopes and aspirations like every college player that is fortunate enough to play at the NFL level. After football, there is nothing for some of them to keep their hopes up and they sank like a stone. A prime example was Gene Jelks. I was working at Big Lots in Fort Payne and they sent me to Gadsden one night to get a mattress because we were out of stock of a particular type. I get there and I see this man behind the cash register freaking out because he didn't know how to work the cash register and ring up the line of people that was out of the door because he just started. I told him I worked in the Fort Payne store and he said, "God sent you"! and welcomed me to come and help. After it was over and the line was down, he asked if he could buy me lunch or do something for me. I said, "No, that's okay. I'm just glad I could help". I had no idea I was talking to my childhood idol when I was playing football. The next day at work, they were laughing and joking about this guy who was a stand out player at the University of Alabama that worked at the Gadsden store. I asked who he was and they told me it was Gene Jelks. I couldn't believe it. I told my boss about what happened and that I had no idea who he was and the next day, she brought be a present because it was Christmas time. It was a picture frame Gene wrapped up with a card inside with his number and autograph and big Roll Tide. He was in Gadsden because he left his playing career in Canada to take care of his sick mother. The point of the story is this: not everyone can literally afford to live a decent life after college football or even if you graduate college. Even with a college degree these days, there is no guarantee of a good job. I know many college graduates working at McDonald's. If you don't come from money, there is a very slim chance you are going to have a decent life in this country. I'm currently a teacher and have a great life. Universities and coaches make millions of dollars and absurd amounts of money off these young guys and tuition rates only go up every year. Let them leave the joy they have given us for years with something to show for it. A lot of these guys are going to have medical issues and probably deal with CTE one day and will have no way to pay for medical care. Who is going to pay for it? I have always noticed the wealthy in high positions always throw the first stones when something is going to benefit a subordinate because they are afraid of losing their power in some way or think it's going to hurt them in some form or fashion. I'm sure greedy schools are worried about losing money also but think of it as an investment. I know one thing about being poor because I grew up poor. Poverty breeds crime and it makes people make stupid decisions. That's just a fact no matter how you look at this situation. Give them some money! We are the richest country in the world with the highest rate of homelessness. Nothing against Coach Saban, but we need to start helping more people in this country. Roll Tide!

@meredithalfred4492 жыл бұрын
I thought the exact same thing! My mind immediately flashed back to him throwing a tantrum in 2012 and talking nonsensical crap about A&M bc we beat them that year. Of course Nick is unhappy with a more level recruiting playing field- or parity, if you will- he was the guy at the top of the food chain of the old system of disparity. He’d be a fool to want any of that to change, but he’s making an even bigger fool out of himself now.
@PirateOfPlayTime2 жыл бұрын
He was never whining about hurry-up offenses beating him, he didn't like it because it increases the likelihood of injuries for the players. Same thing about RPOs a few years back, linemen blocking downfield can get defensive backs hurt if they get blindside blocked. He's telling y'all that these things aren't good for the sport, but he's gonna use them to his advantage if they're allowed. You want him to just intentionally handicap himself? And about Bryce's NIL deal, he got that deal in 2021 a *year* after he already committed and enrolled at Alabama. Saban's talking about offering deals to high school players to incentivize them to play for you. But all that context gets in the way of talking out your rear end, doesn't it?
@scottsantiago29282 жыл бұрын
@@PirateOfPlayTime All the context gets in the way? Really? Lmao, how about the word EVIDENCE?! And don't feed me SlicedBread on a message board; what ACTUAL evidence for "context" does he have to make that kind of public claim to single out the Aggies...don't worry, I'll wait... What I also think is hilarious is that right after "Crying" (and yes, he was crying about it), he adopts the hurry-up, fast-paced offense less than a year after his diatribe about, what'd you call it, oh yeah, "player safety." I guess he wasn't as concerned about the player safety when he decided to use it to his advantage right? Can you spell Hypocrite?

It was well publicized in several major articles that Texes AM boosters paid one million dollars each to the first eight top five stars and one million to the top four star just out of 5 star status. That resulted in Coach Fisher conducting a news conference in which he played the dumb card. That lead to Ole Miss Coach Kiffin calling Fisher out on BS. These NIL deals have gotten so bad that one high school QB has already been offered eight million and his name is not Manning. By the way early projections are circling that Archie Manning could get as high as twenty million paid by boosters when he enters college in 2023.
