@nathanschmitz23025 жыл бұрын
funny enough, the lamp in old Arabic Folklore didn't have a limit on wishes or limits for what could be wished. The problem came in with evil genies (stuck in the lamps) twisting the wish to give the person a bad time.
@cheezemonkeyeater4 жыл бұрын
The whole "granting wishes" thing is actually not in the original Arabic folklore, to my knowledge. Even in 1001 Arabian Nights, the genie doesn't grant wishes. It performs services and it has the power to perform extraordinary services, but you don't actually say, "I wish for this thing" and the genie makes whatever you ask for just become real. The genie goes and gets clothes and riches to make Aladdin look like a prince. It moves the palace by turning into a whirlwind and blowing it to the place the evil sorcerer wants it to be. And so on and so forth. They also weren't automatically bound to lamps or rings. You had to bind them using the seal of King Solomon (the biblical figure). Once you bound them up, they had to serve you because they had to obey anyone who knew the secrets of the seal.

Nah, this is a Disney masterpiece compared to Dingo. If you want worse than Dingo, look up Wownow productions aka Ruthless Films.

It's kinda Jarring how early on in this movie, it jumps straight from choppy, "Phillips CDI" Animation to Surprisingly Decent Saturday Morning Cartoon animation.

Roger Corman's biography sounds even more egotistical than M. Night Shyamalan.
@herschalshep8 жыл бұрын
The difference is Corman knows his movies aren't very high quality and he can honestly say he has helped some of the greatest people in Hollywood. No really. Look at the history of his movies. Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Cappula, Ron Howard, Jack Nicholson, even James Cameron all got their starts working for him or because of him.

TheDreweMaster In all fairness to Roger Corman, he did actually direct a couple of decent horror films with Vincent Price based on Edgar Allen Poe stories. For example, Corman's Masque Of The Red Death and The Tomb Of Ligeira may be worth checking out if you want to :)

@Arrowdodger8 жыл бұрын
It's a cute look, though I was briefly concerned they were going to have them fall down since they had her fidgeting with one of the straps. They were laying it on so thick that people make fun of her, so I wouldn't have put it past them to do that to her

Of course what Phelous means by five years in the making is that it was made in about a month by a high school student and put on a shelf for five years before being released. Or stuck in development hell. Your choice.

Is that the actual voice actor for the disney Aladdin? The one who plays...Aladdin...If not they sound very similar.
@grainnequinn11018 жыл бұрын
I think it is
@nerdsman5678 жыл бұрын
+Evilkat23 I thought the exact, same thing! But I'm pretty sure it's a completely different actor. The fact that he sounds so similar pretty much cements how much of a blatant ripoff this version of Aladdin is.
@redroofinn7o8 жыл бұрын
Ok, I looked up the voice actor, Funny enough, he's not the voice of Disney's Aladdin, but, he's played in several disney productions including the Aladdin TV show...but still wasn't Aladdin. Give the guy an oscar for being convincing though.
