Ares, god of war, as in the aspects of brutality, bloodshed and inflicting fear, saying "War is hell". I could maybe picture Athena saying that on account she was the god of war in regards to tactics and cleverness, but also diplomacy. If anything Ares would be going all Soldier from TF2; "This is war, and I LOVE IT!" Indeed in some later iterations Aphrodite and Zeus did bang to create the god Eros. In an older version Eros was the son of Aphrodite and Ares, while in Hesiod's Theogyny, which I consider the definitive take on Greek mythology, Eros is a Primordial, meaning he predated the Titans, and Aphrodite in that myth was created when the Titan Cronus (Zeus' father) castrated his father, the Primordial Uranus, and tossed his severed genitals into the sea where Aphrodite arose from foam they created. So I guess in that iteration Aphrodite was more like Zeus' aunt.

Both his parents hated him, a fact Athena never stopped reminding him of. He once got his (old man's head) handed to him by a mortal (in the Iliad, not God of War). One time, some giants stuffed him in a jar and not a single other god even noticed that he was missing for seven months and even after that, they clearly weren't trying very hard to find him because they only did after the giants' neighbors filed a noise complaint. If you go by Homer, then Aphrodite is Zeus's daughter. But according to Hesiod, which is the version of her story I've seen referenced the most, Aphrodite is the one God that isn't directly related to any of them. Aphrodite was born from seafoam and the severed testes of Ouranos, who is the father of Cronus, the father of Zeus. So she's more like Ouranos's homumculus child than a legit relative to Zeus and the other Gods Edit: spelling

Fun fact: I actually own a Stardust VHS tape which contains an episode of the RoboCop cartoon titled A Robot's Revenge. It included promos for Leo the Lion: King of the Jungle and Goodtimes' Alice in Wonderland. Much like every other italian dub it had an italian intro which as far as I remember it's catchy as hell. I think I find it better than the original intro which all it does is just narrate Alex Murphy's origin story. My parents bought this VHS tape along with Peter Pan 2003 which unlike the RoboCop episode which was dubbed in italian that movie was dubbed in albanian. It would later air on TV this time with a new and improved dub. I was a kid back then and my family owned VHS tapes before I was even born. My older brother being a 90s kid did grow up with those tapes as well. I did watch RoboCop growing up along with every Disney movie during the 2000s, so, I knew exactly what Peter Pan and Alice in Wonderland were. I also own Leo the Lion on VHS dubbed in greek along with the 3 Star Video VHS tapes which I mentioned in a reply on Phelous' review of Manga Sekai Mukashi Banashi's Beauty and the Beast episode. 9:20 As you said, Phelan, the Greek mythos is…complicated. A lot of it comes from lines of various oral traditions. For example, in one story, Aphrodite is not the daughter of Zeus, but was born when the blood of Ouranos’ castrated penis hit the ocean and the water started frothing and forming into Aphrodite. Another tradition states that she is the daughter of Zeus and the titaness Dione. Also, Priapus’ father is Zeus in one mythological strain, but Dionysus or Hermes in another.

@@caucasoidape8838 Well, Athena did technically have both a dad and a mom-Zeus and the titaness, Metis. Zeus jusr swallowed her, and Athena was born when Hephaestus split his head open. Oh i had a lot of Stardust VHS as a kid, and yeah they used to make these bundles with crappy toys, but with The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Jetlag they tried REALLY HARD with the merchandise: not only they did a figure of Quasimodo and Esmeralda, but they also released a music tape with the song from the movie, a sticker album and POGS! The ads for all that stuff was insane as well, it was on A LOT of their VHS.

I too own a Stardust VHS tape and it contains an episode of the RoboCop cartoon titled A Robot's Revenge. Not only that but own tons of VHS tapes of movies either live-action and Disney movies. the Disney movies are dubbed in greek while live-action movies are subbed. Except for the 101 Dalmatians movies starring Glenn Close which was dubbed in greek. I also own a VHS tape containing 3 episodes of the 80s TMNT.

Honestly, a Greek mythology adaptation for kids that doesn't make Hades the villain? Maybe this *is* the best Hercules~

Now that's an interesting idea, Hercules befriending [some of] the monsters on his journeys & even helping him on later tasks, kind of like Pokemon. He dra I choose you! Use poison! Its super effective!

This feels like somehow the exact quality midpoint between Goodtimes and Dingo.
