Aladdin's treasures part 6 - Sharp GF-382 x 2 (twins) Boombox repaired!

Hello. This has been an interesting and challenging project. A lot of problems did not make it into the video. Such as having to rewind one speaker, lots of bad electronic components. Everything was solved, which I am very happy about.
A very rare Japanese boombox has arrived for repair. Incredible, in original packaging and almost new. Follow my channel so you don't miss other boomboxes from the ALADIN cave :) Good emotions to you.

Aladdin has smiled upon you once again. You managed to tidy up life's mistakes and make things right. 😎 👍 Pinch rollers and belts are super easy to replace in these Sharp decks. I've done it with a few GF-700 and GF-500 models as they use virtually the same mechanism. By the way, did you replace the tape counter belt(s)? I didn't see you do it. 🤔

Thank you for your comment and kind words. Yes, there were not many problems with the bells. It was more with the electronic part. Lots of dried up and shorting capacitors, oxidation of the contacts. Typical problems caused by time. 😉

@@restoration-RC-Studio I keep forgetting you trim these videos (so some things are not shown). That's my bad. 😌 I repaired a GF-500 a year ago which, after the usual routine tape deck service, I found Tape 2 wouldn't erase or record. Replaced 8 electrolytic capacitors on the main board (4 of them were for Tape 2 REC/PB, the other 4 being for Tape 1 as playback volume was a bit low) cleaned the switches and controls - I also tidied up a few suspect solder joints. Your two GF-382 units are from around 1982 so they are over 40 years old and worth keeping in your collection - true vintage. 😇
