Sega's 8-bit Aladdin game may not get the recognition that its 16-bit brother does, but this short, easy game really does perform wonders with the Master System hardware. It's perfect for kids, and it does a great job of capturing the feel of the movie!

Not only does it have parallax scrolling, but it also has pseudo-3D backgrounds similar to Toy Story on the Super Famicom and Mega Drive.

I love how this is some sort of 8-bit redux of the movie

Parallax Scrolling?! on the Master System?!

Not bad - definitely way, way better than the official NES version (although the bootleg wasn't too bad). My fav SMS game to this day is still Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap! If I were to make a list of 10 must-play SMS games, this one would definitely be in my top 3. :)

Bit of a late reaction, but What would the rest of your top 10 SMS games be?

knowing the cartoon, both movies and the remake.... this just makes jafar look like he should have.... his box of fux is apparently empty

Why didn't they include this version in the Aladdin Lion King Collection too? This version is the only one where you could play as Aladdin in his Prince Ali outfit. The Super NES and Sega Genesis versions doesn't even had that (well the Super NES version did in one level but that's only just the flying carpet bonus stage). Heck even the Game Boy and GBA versions doesn't had that.

I just thought of something. Jafar stole the lamp while Aladdin still had a wish left. Couldn't Jasmine have wished for Aladdin to be a prince again and still have been able to free the Genie? I mean, not for nothing because this way is better, but still.
@ThiagoNunesRS4 жыл бұрын
To make a wish the lamp needs to be rubbed.

I know this video is 5 years old but I just realized watching it today that this game has 3d in the very first level. On a Master System game.
@FungusTrooper Жыл бұрын
Yeah this game had a ton of really imaginative design. So many different types of levels (the first two auto-scrollers, then some Prince of Persia platforming, the carpet ride, the Jafar fight), the cutscenes, even the way you have to trick a guard onto a switch in the Palace level. Super advanced for the SMS!

I'm getting a Prince of Persia vibe from this game...which is kinda ironic considering that Aladdin is very similar to Prince of Persia.

Np! You can leap from right side of the pit to grab the ledge, and he'll grab the bread as he's dangling. Then just pull yourself up and move on.
