It hurts my soul that I was forced to sell my Saturn and most of the games a few months ago. Dealing with health issues, so I'm not working, and I needed the money for bills 😢. I had it since 1996, a year after launch, and it was in amazing condition. I still have my Dreamcast, at least, but I miss my Saturn.

I feel you, man. While I don't have health issues, I did have some financial issues. I had two factory sealed copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga since launch and a great condition SEGA Saturn console. Had to sell them. It sucks man. But we can always get them back again one day. May not be the same, but still.....

No health issue, but when I was a kid moving home to home, my mother said i can only bring 1 console with us after moving...Atari 2600 or NES have to go bye bye 😢 i had over 90 games on the Atari 2600 & 60 games NES (i kept NES). I don't like emulation, but rebuilding childhood memories costs a lot $$$ versus buying something like Anbernic or Kinhanks HDD loaded with games is tempting.

@@medmuscle I think Sega Saturn is like his twentieth favorite system, not his number 1, 2, or even 3. I've seen him make videos to really sell himself as a Saturn OG, but I think he never did much more than enjoy the obvious stuff like panzer, Daytona, VF2, etc., so yes he's a fan but not like most Saturn fans that would put it up there at the top or very close In other words he's probably a more well adjusted, and rounded gamer than me lol...it's okay rgt, no one can be all-in on every system

The Saroo isn't able to do Action Replay codes, that's the only downside. But a $70 cart with the entire game library on it, you can't beat that.

Can't do redbook audio either, for obvious reasons, ISO's doesn't support CDDA tracks, so flashcarts have to use MP3/ADPCM, if you are an audio head, it might be a downside for you (like myself), MiSTer canny do redbook audio either for the same reason, until optical drives are supported for FPGA (only one so far is the Analogue Duo), redbook is basically lossless FLAC quality, so if you have a nice sound setup of cans, you will appreciate the much higher fidelity it has.

I bought my Saroo off Aliexpress a few months back, already have a 4 ion 1 ram cart with pseudo saturn on it. along with my actual games , I can play cd-r games and iso (rom files etc..). The Sega Saturn is really awesome !!!!

Ive been using Satiator for years and I never really liked it.. soon as I got my Saroo tho, I’m playing Saturn so much more.. ultra fast loading, less issues overall… Granted I was using Satiator Rings with my Satiator to have cover art and cooler interface.. but I ran into so many problems with it over the years..

one other thing I'd recommend is a FRAMS mod. The Saturn is NOTORIOUS for deleting saves when your battery dies, so have that as well as a pack of CR2032 batteries

You don't need that modification with saroo, saroo creates a virtual memory, both of the system and the cartridge, for each game similar to an ode with memcard pro.

I got one to reduce wear on my physical library but mostly the drive & laser and it’s pretty good. Still hoping Krikzz will produce an Everdrive for the Saturn someday tho

Definitely getting Saroo at some point but right now my japanese Saturn is good enough since I'm interested mostly in japanese games which are still quite cheap. When I want to play west released games or fan translations that's when I buy a Saroo. 😃

Note on Christmas NiGHTS: Elliot's version of that level has a different layout of Rings, orbs & links and everything. So it's actually an exclusive layout of that level that's not in the original (if you play it as Elliot)

I got mine about 5 months ago. For $65 with the SD card on eBay. Looks like this has gone up since I bought it. I put all the games I like on it. And they all play great. Yes I own about 30 Saturn games. Most of them are heavy hitters. Now I don't need to worry about breaking the CDs. Not that I was going to.

Yeah well, I spent a really long time making quite a few CD-Rs of games I wanted to play on my Sega Saturn, and half the time they didn't even work. I also tried replacing the lens, but the replacement lens was also showing its age. And NOW there's some BETTER technology that comes along AFTER I'm no longer interested in playing the Saturn again anyway!

I have a MiSTer and the Saturn core is almost perfect accurate like real hw without the "old console to flat TV" hustle. The 8bitdo M30 is the perfect Saturn controller replacement. ☮️

I love these ROM carts, usb or HD drives loaded with games, they really make retro gaming easy to have instant fun on dedicated hardware. I use on my SEGA Genesis, Wii, Dreamcast, Saturn, and now looking to invest in a NEO GEO system. Playing on the actual system is more enjoyable but I do love the loaded HD and retro emulator systems. All in all they have me covered, when I can't carry around my Dreamcast I just pull out an emulator device and enjoy the moment. IMO owning a SEGA Saturn, NEO GEO, and Dreamcast is like owning something close to an actual arcade, the games are outstanding, bright, full of action, animated, sprites, re-playability, just fun games.

I’ve always loved the Saturn. But after getting the Sarroo I’ve been playing my Saturn every weekend like I did when I was a kid! I didn’t have a large collection of games for the Saturn and obviously over the years the prices of the games have been getting more and more expensive, even Japanese versions are going up. I refuse to pay the kind of money people are asking and the Sarroo just allows me to enjoy the system again.

It’s $40 with 128 gb worth of games on Ali Express. Only issue I had was most of the games are the Japanese versions and there is a lot of Japanese puzzle games on it wasting space on the card but Christmas Nights was already on it. Ended up having to find the US and European roms myself but definitely wouldn’t shell out over $100 for it.

Saturn was always a fun looking system. I decided to UN mod my ps3 earlier. I just wanted to enjoy it plain Jane. My new controller works with PlayStation premium so I may get that. I have been trying to boost the Xbox forever now and I think I am giving in to games more my style. You would not believe how many PS5 Best Buy had today and it is the Christmas season. I won't have any trouble getting a regular with a disk drive that is for sure.

Only issue is that leaving these cards in over time stretches out the pins in the cartridge slot and it will eventually stop working.

You're saying it backwards. It's taking them in and out is what bends the pins. It's recommended to LEAVE the cartridge in.

I googled for Saturn Saroo and there seems to be many "compatibility lists" floating around, so I guess it's not as perfect as an optical emulator. Since I only own a handful of physical games, I rather prefer owning a Fenrir over the Saroo.

Retro is King. Play Dragon Quest IX on Nintendo DS and enjoy that soundtrack or Grandia on Psx. Games now are hugh in graphics and demanding plus cutscenes that look like movies. The best games 16 bit to 128bit including Gameboy advance and DS and the switch is my main console.

My saturn no longer works. There's power but no start up screen or anything. So I bought myself a Saroo console. The problem is the roms from some places don't work on the Saroo. Could be just my fault for using a 1 TB Sandisk sd card.

I use Nvidia Shield Pro and just sync a Saturn controller to it. Heck it can do this with every console from Atari to Dreamcast with ease. Saves a lot of room. Don't need giant shelves with 20 consoles on it.

I don't think I ever played a Sega Saturn before. There aren't really any games I want for it. That device is still expensive but I guess it's cheaper than other options. This is probably only useful if I have original hardware because I could just emulate it. I like how Rogue has a kiss ability. I don't see Colossus in this game. He's one of the few mutants who don't suffer ill effects from her powers but Rogue can still use his powers. We see this in the third X-Men movie and Colossus is totally fine even after being touched. 8:20 Call of Duty sucks. I don't want to pick up a Saturn. It doesn't have games I want to play. Well it does have Symphony of the Night with some added features but it's not really worth it. My HD TV has RCA support.
