Alamat is actually rare for a pop boy band because they specifically focus in mixing traditional and modern styles into their roster. The blending of languages is insane too. They were definitely mashing up different genres, but what’s adding on to the diversity of the sound is that they are also singing in different Filipino languages…for this song, I believe they were singing in 7 languages. Alamat is a boy group and the girl Lyca is featured in this song. Thanks for reacting!! 🤎

Thank you for reacting to Alamat! They are fantastic and sooo underrated. I recommend watching their Ily Ily music video, which has English subtitles. The lyrics are really powerful and they, along with the video, help put the "multiple songs in one" in context. I don't want to spoil it, but basically it's about the children whose parents are OFW (Overseas Filipino Workers) and what they go through being parted from them, often for years at a time. Please react to their Kasmala MV and Wish Bus performance (they had 8 members then, so don't be thrown off). Both are just as powerful as this one. They are truly unique and deserve a much wider audience!
