The one that you think is the youngest, Tomas (with the cup) is actually the oldest-he’s almost 25! Everyone always thinks he’s the youngest when they first see him😊. Alamat, along with SB19, are my favorite groups. Also, R&B is my favorite genre.

They're all in their early 20s, but the one you said looks super young (Tomas, the one holding the cup at the start) is actually the oldest one lol, and crop jacket guy (Jao) is the youngest. The one you said reminded you Taemin is Taneo (and if you watch more MVs, you should get used to him not wearing a shirt lmao). The one whose pronunication you were complimenting (Alas) wasn't actually rapping in Tagalog - that was a different Philippine language called Bisaya. It's one of the things that sets Alamat apart; they use different Philippine languages and almost always have a strong cultural component to their songs or MVs. (In this one, the colourful fabric inserts in the black leather costumes are made of traditionally woven textiles.) So even beyond their music, I think they do really important work in showcasing (and being proud of) their own ethnic origins, and the many unique cultures, languages and traditions of the country.

Alamat is great! For PPop groups, they are the one that intrigued me most after SB19. What stands out for me is that the Philippines is diverse and they promote and celebrate that diversity (both culture and different languages like this song). I like that their newer songs are more R&B forward (my preference), though they definitely have pop tracks. Alamat means legend. Maharani is also a great song. I think you might like it.

Thank you very much for your reaction! On spotify, Alamat is the second most listened to PPop group, with SB19 of course leading the way. This is why while they are so underrrated, it is their music that keeps them going. As trivia too: they are the only multilingual PPop group as they sing in many different Philippine languages.

Most of their songs are rnb leaning, & they love to experiment & infuse several genres together. This, Gayuma, Kbye, Porque & Maharani are their head on rnb songs. I strongly suggest for you to also listen to their live performance collab for "Litrato"- this is a hidden gem of theirs. For other genres, ILY ILY is a rollercoaster/smorgardboard of genres, though I like to classify it as rock w/ another song of theirs, Sandigan Kasmala, Hala, ABKD & Aswang are their more pop leaning ones Tibay 'yan for hiphop They also have reggaeton in their most recent release, Day & Night ^_^

Aside from SB19, ALAMAT is my fav PPop boy group. I was thinking of recommending them to you on your last SB19 RV. Mo (the one in braids) is the leader of Alamat along with Alas, the one that you liked how he rapped (If I'm not mistaken) and Mo is the first Black-Asian (Blasian) Ppop idol. He's half black, half Filipino. Alamat is also loved by most of A'tin. They call their fandom Magiliw. They have no beef with other pop groups, super amicable group. Their songs are always a bop too.

Taneo (dude dancing behind plastic) is the leader of Alamat, actually! Mo used to be co-leader back when there were more members; this position has since been dropped but he helps the others with regards to singing and is often referred to as the "vocal leader". Taneo, on the other hand, focuses more on the technical side of things, such as keeping on top of schedules and giving the members direction during events. He usually lets everyone do whatever as long as things don't get derailed too much though so we don't get to see that side of him much. But yes to the second half of your comment, I hope this stays true as the years pass by!
