ALAMAT is one of the PPOP boy groups I stan because they incorporate several other Filipino languages (aside from Tagalog) in their music. They have a ton of MVs - kBye (their debut song, its an upbeat song. don’t be surprise if they were many of them during their debut since they were 9 members of ALAMAT) - kasmala (a very hard song. one member left the group which makes ALAMAT an 8-member) - porque (a ballad remake) - ABKD (a very fun song) - ILY ILY (features Lyca Gairanod, a soloist. Two members left before ILY ILY which makes ALAMAT a 6-member group) - Aswang (another hard song) - Maharani (my favorite ALAMAT song so far, this is their latest)

Alamat is the PPOP group who has more cultural touch in their music. You have to check out a lot of their MV's because personally, I think they have the deepest music videos in the PPOP industry specially the song, Kasmala. A very historical one. Alamat uses at least 8 languages in their songs (each member's mother tongue, English, and Filipino), because they represent different provinces in the PH. They trained for a year and 13 songs have been released since their debut in less than 2 years. All members can sing, rap, dance, and play an instrument, so they are really musically inclined. (There are songs that they all sang and some they all rapped). They consistently include elements of Filipino culture and tradition in the music videos they create. Their clothing features Filipino textiles and designs. Their songs always incorporate traditional instruments. In every music video, you can expect to learn more about Filipino culture, history, and traditions, as even as a Filipino, I am still discovering some aspects of our past that have been forgotten. Alamat is known for their unique and creative approach to music and music videos, which often include elements that are unexpected and may require a closer examination to fully understand. Their music videos are carefully crafted and contain hidden meanings and symbols that are not immediately obvious. To fully appreciate their work, it is necessary to research the themes and references in the songs and videos, as well as the meaning behind the designs and symbolism in their clothing and sets. If you notice that the members of Alamat are wearing jackets without inner shirts or crop tops, it is a reference to the traditional pre-colonial culture of the Philippines. They also don't hide their tattoos, which is another nod to traditional pre-colonial Filipino culture.

OMG YESSSS! I was hoping you would react to them! They have songs with heavy cultural and historical references. I would recommend ILY ILY because it talks about a social issue in the Philipines in depth, and the lyrics reflect the MV. The MV for the song Kasmala is infused with so many historical references based on actual historical records but there is a disconnect between the lyrics and the mv so I would recommend watching ILY ILY first because it is easier to get hints of what the song is about from the lyrics whereas for Kasmala, there is only a connection between the MV and the lyrics if you take the lyrics very VERY symbolically. Both are still amazing songs and MVs in my opinion tho. and I love that both of those MVs include multiple languages from the Philippines and not just Tagalog (the main language of the country).

The way this made me excited. I’m a hardcore Felip stan(Sisiw), an A’tin and an almost Magiliw. I’m just happy that you are exploring more of PPOP now. Yes I agree the song is such a BOP. Say u love me and Maharani are on my playlist although I agree, I was not amused with the black outfits they had. Give them a chance though because I believe Alamat fits are up there. Maybe except for this one. I highly recommend their Wish Bus performance of this song. Their live vocals are great too. Yup. The MV is too sexy. Yet the story and the lyrics connected. I forgot the meaning behind the stories. Their creative director shared it in twitter. The main point is they wore black because this was the 2nd song since the 2 members left. So it really made them sad. Another thing, ALAMAT usually talks about social issues in their songs. And here, it shows that men are not the only one who do adultery. Some women do it also. The Say U Love Me - WISH BUS Performance is better in terms of vocals Sis with no distraction from the sexy moves. 😂 I suggest you watch their MVs based on the year Sis so that you can see the development. 2021 ✨ K BYE ✨ Porque.
