Alamat is a P-Pop boy group that consists of different ethnicities. They always carry the Filipino identity in all of their songs. As of the song, it is a song that portrays a part of the Filipino history. Kasmala came from the Filipino word "Malakas" which means Strong. They said in an interview that the song is all about colonialism and also asian hate and sufferings of Filipinos in the foreign land. Each member shows different scenes of what the Filipinos experienced. I'm so happy for the boys. Proud Magiliw here

whoah! I’m surprised you reacted to Alamat. I am glad that you checked them out King Fam. I love this group too. I like their songs/genre, fashion style(modern/tradional filipino fusion) and the fact that they promote the different languages/culture of the Philippines and they have that Tribal theme too(instrumentals) but mostly because they educate the history of the philippines through their MV. That is why the group is called “alamat” or Legend in english. They tell tales and legends of the Philippines.

Yes! Thank you for reacting to Alamat. This is one of my fave PPOP MV and song. So dope. Really surprised it doesn’t have as many views. I thought it was well done showing a “darker” side of Filipino history. I’m Fil-Am and only speak Ilocano and a passable Tagalog so I don’t understand the other dialects/languages. The outfits and choreo are awesome!

Great vocals, visuals and instrumentation. Celebrating their culture for sure. Perhaps you could expand your reactions in nearby Indonesia as well? You have done Alip Ba Ta and Cakra Khan, and I have already suggested Maysha Jhuan singing "Traitor", but I would also add anything by Alffy Rev, with there incredible videos. Hi, Dennis. This song outwardly is a love song sang in seven different dialects and languages. The character in this song describes how enchanting and beautiful the maiden, the object of his affection is.But the music video has many historical references which brings us to the possibility that the maiden could be a metaphor for the the Motherland.I suggest you either watch or maybe react to Kirby Aurallo's historian reaction to Alamat's Kasmala on youtube to fully appreciate this song and the music video.Trigger warning, it might be a little awkward but I should tell you Filipinos are the most forgiving people in the world. You'll find no bitterness among Pinoys against their colonizers despite great suffering.
