I only ever use Shape Tweens for water and other fluids because of how uncontrollable they can become. I didn't even know Shape Hints were a thing. That's awesome! Thanks for making this video :)

Late comment, but the best ways to handle a shape tween is if the two shapes in question have similar amounts or even the same amount of points. It'll be easier for the program to know what goes where. Another thing you can do with shape tweens is colour/gradient changes. Because the shape itself isn't changing and only the colour is. Just don't do a shape tween of an object with two seperated colours.

I really like your video! Thanks for explaining! But why don't you draw the keyframes by hand seperately when it takes so long to get the shapetween right? Wouldn't be drawing the frames individually easier especially when it's a simple form like a stickfigure limb?

2:02 there actually is a flash extension called keyframe caddy which makes it so you don't have to manually switch the frame a symbol's on. It shows all the frames in the symbol and you click on the frame you want to use. Ive found its very helpful. creative.adobe.com/addons/products/569#.VzDp79UrLnA

I think slow-mo shape tweens are better than slow-mo seperate pieces because: The problem with your ending of A VS MC Is that it looks like after each frame another is added. And slow it down you can see that cheesy effect. Unlike the shape tweens, with enough hints, can create some cool slow-mo that looks flawless. This is my opinion only, don't go modern simpleton on me.
