Alan Broadbent reminisces about his decision to travel to the U.S. from his native New Zealand in pursuit of his passion for jazz and composition. He shares anecdotes about his creative process, and his work with notable artists including Woody Herman and Diana Krall.

I am a great fan of Alan’s recent trio albums and an even bigger fan of Mel Torme. Alan arranged Mel Torme’s Tribute album to Bing Crosby. I think this album is my least favorite Torme album, i think it’s boring. I wonder how Alan thinks back on that cooperation with Mel and on the album?
