The title should be “The guy who created the financial crisis.” Jerome Powell says “Hold my beer.”

"You have not begun to appreciate the depth of our guilt. We are intruders. We are subverters. We have taken your natural world, your ideals, your destiny, and played havoc with them. We have been at the bottom of not merely the latest Great War (World War 1) but of every other major revolution in your history. We have brought discord and confusion and frustration into your personal and public life. We are still doing it. No one can tell how long we shall go on doing it. Who knows what great and glorious destiny might have been yours if we had left you alone." - Marclis Eli Ravage, ( a Jew,) Century Magazine, February - 1926.

3:20 mistake one is the assumption that a mathematical economic model has a perfect outcome. It is extremely important to understand that all economic models have a tendency to be limited meaning that a few or several variables could be missed. Furthermore, when the establishment or central government believes in being able to manage the economy, which is not only managing power, but also the society, and its politics, there can be no exit from it because the mathematics is not solvable anymore. And the only way you can solve it is by making assumptions that are toxic; therefore, leading to bad mathematics, bad economics, and finally causing the financial system to fail.

Large part of my academic years studying Economics in Brazil were dedicated to understand crisis. A country labeled a 3rd World operates in such a tight self-esteem trying to beat the odds of the world market that is mislead an understanding of value. It took me long years of studies in the American market to see that Economics brings an uplifting understanding that Physics couldn't bring me. Perhaps such gap in my mind couldn't be fullfilled just by analizing a GPA score. Economics goes beyond the power of the mind. It appoints the value of GDP that a geographic area produce. It isn't just a measurement of utility or need. It studies a monetary time piece. Alan Greenspan facilitated 18 years of his interest in the USA. It echoed to communities when celular phone broadband wasn't available, the computers' connection weren't available worldwide to the public and perhaps some TV stations wouldn't be quoting his name. A few years ago, I wouldn't be commenting in his video-interview, I wouldn't know he ever knew Getz. Sometimes the world doesn't look so big and human history might still be a baby.
