Very sweet and down to earth. My Grandparents took me on the greatest vacation of my life when I was 14. Mr. Hale had a restaurant in the Burbank, Studio City area called the Lobster Barrel. Nothing fancy but very good seafood. He was in the restaurant that evening and was so kind to sit with us and visit. My Grandfather was a big fan of his father Alan Sr. He loved talking about his Pop. His face lit with color and glowing admiration for him. He sat with us the entire dinner talking with my Grandpa about his father. I was honored to be called little buddy by him and he popped me on top of my head with his famous hat. I time I will treasure forever.
