Alan Hutton spent 8 years on Aston Villa's books making 185 appearances in claret & blue and scoring 3 goals - one of which would certainly fall into the 'iconic' category!
Hutton describes his time at Aston Villa as a 'rollercoaster' and says that a difficult spell under Paul Lambert was the 'hardest 2 years' of his career. Spells on loan at Mallorca and Nottingham Forest finally lead to the redemption story that peaks in a promotion to the Premier League.

So much respect for Hutts, treated pretty poorly by a succession of managers but stayed loyal and always gave 100 %. A lot of fans saw him as a weakness but a lot of us enjoyed his battling character. And finally THAT goal he scored against small heath words are not enough, a true legend in my eyes.

Loved every second of that. What a legend Hutton is, didn't like him at the start and thought he was a waste of £4m, but he turned it around with some fantastic performances, that goal and his leadership. Would make a great coach and still has a lot to offer to younger lads. Thanks for the memories Al🙏

Fabulous interview. Great guy - great to see the real Alan Hutton. He's different from the 'occasional red mist' and 'bomb squad player' that I feared he might have been (I didn't follow Villa during his time).
