"Blacktop" from his current release, "The Bluegrass Album", with
Tim Crouch on fiddle, Rob Ickes on resonator guitar, Sammy
Shelor on banjo, Adam Steffey on mandolin, Scott Coney on guitar
and Tim Dishman on bass. Ronnie Bowman and Don Rigsby sang
harmony.

The fiddle player, Tim Crouch, is from my little hometown of Strawberry, AR. He's played in Nashville for years. One of the best for sure.

I suspect you are kidding, but you were right about the clown. He was an amusing late night talk show host, back in the era of amusing late night talk shows - before they began majoring in casting aspersions at all that is good and decent. Unfortunately, he is rich and owns an Indy Car team, so I occasionally still see him on TV during a race. BTW, notice that Alan points at each musician who plays a break, because he knows that studio engineers normally can't identify instruments in a band such as this. I wish more band leaders did that.
