Alan & Monica - Late April 1980 - Excerpts & the morning after of the Frank Smith party

This either takes place late April or early May. Rick & Monica have already told Alan the baby is Rick's. Some of these scenes are duplicate but there are some that were in German only that are now in English. There is a scene right at the end of this clip w/Lesley & Monica having words the day after this party. Alan gets drunk at the party & the aftermath is all on here in English. There are German clips that include conversations between Monica & Lesley where Lesley tells Monica, "You won you finaly have Rick" and also talks about the waterfront clinic Rick & Monica plan to run. Later, Rick hints to Lesley about divorce. Hoping to have these translated someday.

You are welcome! I wish I had the whole Frank Smith party. There was a scene between Monica and Lesley that’s in German but I could read Lesley’s lips telling Monica she won. I want the whole conversation!

@@GHRickLesley …Very interesting. After the downfall of Frank Smith, the Quatermaines were the official high Soviet toast of PC. The party at Frank Smith’s was on neutral territory. Lesly is always a class act.

It’s definitely interesting watching the scenes as an adult, versus when I was 10 years old. You have a whole new perspective. Monica definitely gets what’s coming to her.

Yes. I was thinking the same thing. I didn’t understand some of it at the time. I was also more engrossed with the younger characters at the time. The Rick/Leslie and Alan/Monica stuff is far more interesting now than I thought at 10. One thing I totally missed was how doggone handsome Alan was. He was just “some old guy” to me back then😂

I love Tracy all the way around. She is still rocking it these days too! I know there has got to be something behind Edward leaving her the jar of pickled relish perhaps it was a message to her to start that business or find stock in that company??

I've been looking for this clip! Love Tracy too! At least Rick had expressed some remorse for what he had done to Lesley. This is probably one of the few times Monica had any regret at all for the affair. Of course she was back to wanting the divorce the next morning..all heart. Watched a bunch of old clips these past few months.. there is a similar bedroom scene between these two which occurred about a decade later when a drunk Alan asked her about Ned.

Oh wow I haven't gotten around to watching the reading of Edward's will, but yeah, that's definitely a reference to Pickle Lila. Lila was very astute financially, I've been watching that s/l on udhoop's channel (1988). She started Pickle Lila with Stella and continued it with Charlene (Lucy Coe's aunt). At one point she made a killing in the stock market with Cheryl Stansbury handling the transaction. I wouldn't be surprised if there's something for Tracy to find regarding Pickle Lila..
