"They look like good, strong hands." It's been 30 years, and that line, in that sad, gentle, and utterly broken voice still moves me to tears. In hindsight I think it was even sadder than when Atreyu lost Artax. The Rock Biter was so powerful, but in the end he was helpless. Thank you, Mr. Oppenheimer, for breathing life into that wonderful character. There are no small parts.

Wow!! That is actually me asking Alan about TNS. Nice to see you posted this little clip! Thanks for allowing me the chance to speak, and hearing Alan do his voice work. :D

Amazing, that he was able to voice Atreyu's (and Bastian's) charismatic steed, Fantasia's diabolical enemy, and the immense and galumphing Rock-biter... and you didn't realize they were all the same guy. EDIT: Lucky he stopped him there... I can see Wolfgang next saying: "And Alan, as long as I've got you here... can you put on this sparkly white dress and be the Childlike Empress?"

I feel like the fact that Alan did so many voices of major characters worked really well. Made it feel very like...audiobook-y.

"Remember. He's not only the voice of Falkor, Rock Biter, Gmork & the narrator: he's the voice of He-Mans nemesis, Skeletor. Until we meet again." 😀

He did more voices in that movie than I thought! I knew he did the voice for Falcar, but The Rock Biter too?

Wolfgang just kept asking for more and more... lucky for him he didn't wind up also doing Bastian, Urgl, and the Empress. Maybe Artax too, make some horrible drowning sounds... ☠
