Given that _context_ is rapidly becoming a dirty word that counts for nowt in certain ideological circles these days I respectfully disagree on the notion that this sort of material (at least in a mainstream show) could still be ‘gotten away with’… On a related note: always amusing to observe those of a demonstrably leftwing disposition feeling compelled to inform the rest of us exactly what they found funny and why. The _guilt_ they feel for laughing at ‘edgy’ humour is palpable. ;)

As with pretty much every _Al Murray_ video it’s always amusing to observe those who feel compelled to explain/virtue signal to everyone else precisely what they found funny and why. ;) Even better when they also conceitedly declare their fellow commenters incapable of grasping the concept of satire, despite offering zero evidence… Comrades, if you essentially _apologise_ for the crime of finding comedy funny, there’s something wrong with you. 🙂

@@cabbageswithcars9532 Hello, We think the same,it's not rude to say things that are honest, not insulting, that's different,it's more everything has to be perfect, nothing out of verbal place, which is tiresome, when you know perfectly well that a person you know is speaking with someone they can't stand,or one uses old terms and no one knows what the F your talking about and in away it's part I think of why general conversation is dying a slow death and we have to say the exact right thing to someone we don't have to impress,so we're nice and PC.

Who do we blame for the woke Taliban nowadays. Ourselves of course for putting up with it. Nobody in television has the balls to confront these arseholes like Eddie Izzard who decides to be female when he wants to. Just what sort of a "woman's day" is he having. Nothing like the good old rock em sock em Babylonian pantomimes. And don't get me started on Ninevah. Bernard Manning was from there- did you know that? Fantastic sense of humour they had- anything goes. Too bad it went. But that's the effect Jeremy Corbyn has had on this country. Tragic, really. When you think about it. But that's another problem. Sadly, given that everyone now is so scared of offending anyone, this show probably wouldn't be made with sketches like this..

PC "culture" is killing comedy sadly, or trying to at least. Luckily there are enough sensible ppl out there still for that not to happen, imo.

Alan Partridge is a spoof character and he is spoofing male attitudes to gay women, not condoning them. I think parody is still allowed. Mind you years ago we had in the UK a show called Till Death Do Us Part which had a deeply racist character, Alf Garnett, played by the superb Warren Mitchell (who in real life was Jewish). The trouble with that show was that Warren played the racist Garnet so straight that many people didn't't realise it was parody and many racists emulated him rather that realising it was a piss take. I do wonder though if some people watching this clip think Alan Partridge is real...

I honestly think these women are doing great. Alan is getting some easy laughs at their expense, but they keep their cool and even tease him back. That is amazingly strong.
