Coogan may have lifted a couple of things from Seinfeld, which were used in episodes before his first show in '97. The first one was scratching his chin when lying about the traffic cone. Jerry had a full-blown theory about touching various parts of one's face when lying. The second one has to do with giving the officer a false name, the delivery of which resembles situations when George Costanza is lying about his name. We will never know for sure, though.

@@ajmakin931 Whatever "patch" means in your weird dictionary. I see: You called Allen, and he denied it. Comedians do lift gimmicks or even ideas from their colleagues. I just mentioned three similarities from AP that are reminiscent of what I saw on Seinfeld.
