I recently made this additional connection, but it it may be a stretch. I (Just) Died In Your Arms is clearly from the 80s, and yet we listen to it in the present day. This discrepancy makes it feel like a song out of time, which perhaps adds to its ethereal feel, and meshes with Alan Wake’s reality warping setting.

Yes 100%! It is definitely a worth it rabbit hole to check. I used to know nothing about Alan Wake too. Only played the first game back in 2014. I've been deeper into the rabbit hole since then. And I really hope you're interested to check Remedy's other games after exploring Alan Wake (1 & 2), like Control (2019) and Quantum Break (2016), and then realize that it's all a big confusing universe, just like me lmao
