This song was the defining ballad of the soundtrack to my parents' courtship. I remember as a young child whenever it played on the radio and only one of them was home, whomever it was either mom or dad, would smile with a far-away look in their eyes. Of course it wasn't until I was older that I came to comprehend hearing this song swept them away in the nostalgia of first falling in love with each other. We suffered the heartbreaking loss my mom last December to cancer having just celebrated her 60th birthday nine days prior. My father was especially devastated when she was taken from us far too early. While there will inevitably be a different tone to the memory this song evokes in dad, I dearly hope it still transports him to a place of sweet memory of their young love...

Lyrics Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must have been something you said I just died in your arms tonight I keep lookin' for somethin' I can't get Broken hearts lie all around me And I don't see an easy way to get out of this Her diary, it sits by the bedside table The curtains are closed, the cats in the cradle Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been something you said I just died in your arms tonight Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been some kind of kiss I should've walked away I should've walked away Is there any just cause for feelin' like this? On the surface, I'm a name on a list I try to be discreet, but then blow it again I've lost and found, it's my final mistake She's loving by proxy, no give and all take 'Cause I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been something you said I just died in your arms tonight Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been some kind of kiss I should've walked away I should've walked away It was a long hot night She made it easy, she made it feel right But now it's over, the moment has gone I followed my hands not my head, I know I was wrong Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been something you said I just died in your arms tonight I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been some kind of kiss I should've walked away I should've walked away

Ephesians 6:10-18 says, Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints. The bible is no old book. You have to really let Christ open your eyes; to see the world in shambles. Many people say it's a religion to lock up people in chains, and say it's a rule book.. why? Because people hate hearing the truth, it hurts their flesh, it's hurts their pride, it's exposes on what things have they done..people love this world so much, s*x, money, power, women, supercars.. things of this world. Still trying to find something that can fill that emptiness in your heart. You can't find that in this world.. only in Christ, the bible is no chains, it's a chainbreaker. Breaking your sins into pieces... Repent now, and turn back to the true Lord only.. God bless.

Every song is a piece of art. Everything that anyone makes for the sake of expression is a piece of art. Whether you like it or not doesn't matter. The creation of art is ubiquitous and a fundamental human activity. Of course there's good art and there's bad art. But, art as a product of expression should be respected for what it is. A question that one could ask is, "Does art that is compelled by societal pressures (money, sex, fame) count as art?" I think the answer is, "Yes, it does." The reason being that humans are always compelled by social pressures. No artwork that's ever been produced can be separated from societal pressures.

Lyrics: Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must have been something you said I just died in your arms tonight I keep looking for something I can't get Broken hearts lie all around me And I don't see an easy way to get out of this Her diary it sits on the bedside table The curtains are closed, the cats in the cradle Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this? Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been something you said I just died in your arms tonight Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been some kind of kiss I should have walked away, I should have walked away Is there any just cause for feeling like this? On the surface I'm a name on a list I try to be discreet but then blow it again I've lost and found, it's my final mistake She's loving by proxy, no give and all take 'Cos I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must've been something you said I just died in your arms tonight Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight It must been some kind of kiss I should have walked away, I should have walked away It was a long hot night She made it easy, she made it feel right But now it's over the moment has gone I followed my hands not my head, I knew I was wrong Oh I, I just died in your arms Oh I, I just died in your arms

i think it is very cool that despite your age, and the fact that you were already in your 40's in the 1980s, you still had the taste and presence of mind to recognize and enjoy the amazing musical creativity in that decade...just as I did! I am only 45 so I was a youngster back then, but, I loved it probably just as much as anyone else that lived through that time!
@petersiebert32634 жыл бұрын
@@EphemeralProductions Thank you. It probably had also something to do with the fact that I played bass guitar in a group for 6 years and so had a particular interest in music. I find that some songs at the beginning of he 90s were also very good but unfortunately tailed off during this period. I still love dancing disco fox with my wife but cannot find discos catering for people much over 50. But that is life, all good things come to an end sometime. However we listen to 80s music just about every day.
@petersiebert32634 жыл бұрын
@Greg Hubbard Well Greg, in some way you're right, however in retrospect I find the music of the 80s better than the 60s. I was playing the guitar myself from 1959 until 1966 and found at that time most music was good - obviously. But now I still find the 80s best, regardless of what anybody says. BUT everybody has a right to say their views - at least in most western countries.
