T&H Inspiration is on a mission to share inspiring wisdom. The goal is to have you pause, think, and reflect. Many of our videos revolve around the extraordinary teachings of Alan Watts that we produce with permission from the Alan Watts Electronic University.
T&H also films and releases original interviews with iconic people who have experienced successes, while also persevering through life's highs and lows. We look forward to sharing more of these perspectives and insights.
Our hope with these videos is to push your thinking. As Alan Watts said “No one is more dangerously insane than one who is sane all the time: he is like a steel bridge without flexibility, and the order of his life is rigid and brittle.” - Alan Watts.

I got snowed into a house with a wood burning stove one winter in New Hampshire, and listed to about 7 hours worth of Alan Watts after the sun went down with the only light coming from the fire. It was an amazing and surreal experience.

"Our world today is about speed. Everyone seems to be in a rush, yet most of people are unsatisfied; and, they have no clue where they're going...it's the rare person who slows down to enjoy the present moment." (Harper Daniels, 30 Days to Reduce Anxiety). We don't need to accept the stresses and preconditioned worried of our modern societies. We can return to the basics. We can return to ourselves.

Would you recommend that book? Is it worth the read? I’m going through the most difficult time in my life at 68, and I need something. I’m chronically ill, full of anxiety, and depressed because of a few severe forms of tick-borne illnesses, which generally ve me malaria symptoms, and so is my grown son, who let his treatment slip, and is in jail, money is extremely tight because of his mania, my fiancée dropped me because he can’t face reality, and I’m alone and disabled (not that you’d know it on the outside). There’s WAY more to this, but I hate this part of my life, and I’ve always been optimistic, and have hope for a better future. Thank you!!!

A dog lives in the moment and as beautiful as that is its past and future are already determined because of that. If we don’t use the Time Machine in our heads to try and make a transcendental change then we are simply a predetermined vessel of this world, which in my view is a waste a consciousness.

Holy freaking christ, did this guy have things to say or what? Is this just philosophy, or is it art as well? To speak so eloquently such deep truth, seriously? I have listened to this man for years, I don't know how many, and still it's just mind blowing. As we live life, these things take on new meaning. Straight at the core. Jiddu Krishnamurdti was like this. This is earth shattering truth, a level of consciousness and understanding that is pushing the boundaries of human consciousness. This is a part of all of us, as we chop our wood and carry our water. This is a wonderful example of how incredible humans are, and ultimately the cosmos and whatever may lie beyond.

i was into him 10 yrs ago, turns out he drank himself to death in a cabin still rather early in life. Theres much more to learn past what his words offer. Youll get stuck unless you dig even deeper. The seriousness in life, youll understand when you become aware of the depth of suffering that humans can experience. Then youll either drink yourself to death as he did or find the answers he never could. Then, still more to learn.

This is the big secret (and Watts said it many times): you don't control your thoughts. You don't control your feelings. Aka, you can't choose what you're going to think of next without already thinking of it. Similarly, you don't know how you're going to feel about anything until you do actually feel - sensations aren't chosen, they arise in the body. We learn, yes. We have preferences. I don't know if our thoughts are 'just' a product of our biology / environment or if they're given to us by God or what. It almost wouldn't matter - because a thought is a thing experienced. And thus we get to it: what then, is choice and free will? We have our own preferences and we like to think that we're not puppets, and fine. But what would choice even be? To 'choose' (do) the thing you prefer, right? Except you didn't choose what you prefer. That preference that you have about anything - you didn't choose to have it. You just have it. Just like you can't choose to learn. You take in information but you don't go into your brain and rewire it to finally 'get' whatever it is you didn't get previously. See - choice doesn't exist. Options exist, yes. Action exists. Consequences exist. Learning exists. We all have a conscience and that's never going away, even if it's not always right. But at a fundamental level, we're not choosing. We're experiencing our thoughts and our feelings and the consequences of our actions. And so then what is the ego, if choice doesn't exist? Not much, if anything. But does that mean you'll wake up? Who knows - it's not up to you. Watch and see. Would you remove the obstacles from the path of the protagonist in your favorite story? Neither would anyone else. Why expect life to be any different?

I had the pleasure of treating a 106-108 year old Artist. I have her last paintings she made hanging in the gym where my coworkers and I treat. I asked her one day, how did you know how to value one of your pieces, was it subjective to quality, your like or dislike for the person, size, materials used, time consumed…? “If they rolled up in an expensive car, I would charge more.” 😂 She was a joy and lived an interesting life 🎉.

Thanks for this. I love the sound of the play button at the beginning. I need to hear alan right now. I think things are not as serious as we make them out to be. We work and stress out all the time until we hit our deathbed, then we realize we were sorta wasting our time and energy with that stuff. Everything is play. But I find I have been through alot of suffering in my time. I gave up alot of my past and even forgot it. But I have had some amzing experiences on mushrooms as well. The problem came wheb I tried to tell others and they would either be interested and make me abuse mushrooms with them, or they would think I’m crazy for doing them and look at me differently.

There was a time when scientists and engineers were also artists in their own fields. We’ve lost the creative drive do to an increasing dependency on technology, this dependency is painting over our creativity by taking away the work necessary to grow and discover the artist within each of us. Find your inner child and help inspire them, don’t make them live in a dull drab world. Find the colors and paint them everywhere while you can.

We all live in our own bubble, individually thinking that what we are doing or fighting for or not for is the most important thing at that time. I'm slowly realising that we all think that whats important is validly important to us. Its just that we don't all think the same things are important at the same time. We all reside in our own personal bubble.... And there's nothing wrong with that.

I want to give up but I keep faith because I know God will change my situation. Lord I’m sick of worrying. Please hear my prayers. I trust in you and keep faith even as I struggle to take care of my children. Like many single parents things are so hard on me. Both of my sons are autistic I’m overwhelmed. I’m constantly struggling to buy groceries and constantly struggling to pay rent and now that I’m home schooling my sons I’m struggling to buy their school supplies. But even in hard times we must choose to have faith. As christians that’s all we can do. No matter your struggle, we can turn to God. He knows us personally and can give us strength to overcome our challenges. The only reason I share my testimony is because we should always keep trust in our Lord he will always provide walk with faith and not by sight!

Tough not to worry when you pass so many shanty town tents on your way to that office job which underpays enough to keep the roof over your head. I think it's important to identify when you're having a good time, catalogue it, so that you remember that it's not all bad.

Ignore my last comment. I just found out Alan Watts died in 1973. Is this lecture from beyond the grave? He is only about 108. I'm in total shock.

Everyone's too worried about impressing others what materials they gather up. Everyone's only focused on Money. No one is worried about the only time we have left. Should be worried how much quality time left we have to spare to spend with loved ones. Life wasn't meant to be built this way. We are being lied to. The ones that think this are low. We Are Not Here to just Work Pay bills and Die. Open your eyes people.

Humans derive meaning and understanding through the narratives they weave, for it is within stories that they find purpose and significance. These narratives, in turn, are crafted through the medium of words, each word a vessel carrying its own unique resonance and power. Yet, within the realm of language, there exists the potential for corruption-a distortion that arises as sounds are transmuted into symbols and syntax. However, amidst this labyrinth of linguistic complexity, there exists a realm of purity-a sanctuary of unadulterated expression. This realm is found within the harmonious cadence of music, where sound transcends the limitations of language, resonating directly with the soul. In music, there lies an essence untouched by the confines of linguistic corruption-a primal purity that speaks to the deepest recesses of the human spirit.

In the beginning was the one who is called the Word. The Word was with God and was truly God. ... JOHN 1:1. WHAT IS "WORD" BUT SOUND AND FREQUENCY JUST AS LIGHT IS CODED INFORMATION, ENERGY AND HAS ITS OWN CONSCIOUS AWARENESS SO TOO DOES ALL OF CREATION BREATHE AS GOD'S BREATH.
