Every single word you said I agreed with like I felt if in my souls it’s honestly scaring. But the part about where you look at girls with curly hair and think they look great but not you just letting you know I feel that way about you! Your hair looks amazing ❤

I relate to all of this so much. even now at 35 i still struggle with loving my curly texture (i have 3b curls and growing greys). I feel like an outsider when i choose to go down the path of living my texture again. It's always a back and forth. For years I would do a brazilian blowout, love it, then once the texture came back I would embrace my curls again until ultimately getting tired of the look and go back to chemically straightening. you are definitely not alone. but OMG you are gorgeous. I WISH my curls were like yours, but I'm sure if someone with straight hair saw mine, they'd want them too. The grass is always greener it seems. But you are also just so radiant, raw and real. Your freckles are everything and your hair suits you so well. I hope this brings some light to your internal struggle.

first of all your hair is beautiful. second of all i don’t think this a “you problem”. i think white/western beauty standards are so so so ingrained in every part of our society. so anything that doesn’t quite fit into that, we’re programmed to hate. this isn’t on you. and i do think many people feel the same way and can hopefully be a resource/support for you! i’m sending you love!!

I just started feeling this way after having 6 years of natural curly hair, but difficult to take care of and to maintain,I am fed up with it, curly is beautiful when it's perfectly curly but when it's messy it's disgusting and unprofessional and no elegant or classy, I am struggling I need help as well

To hear that you have insecurities makes me feel sad bc I think you're just so beautiful. We all have our own insecurities. I thought losing weight would fill a void and I discovered that it just gave me a new gang of insecurities. Its just the way the human mind works in this time we are living in. But girl! You are smokin! Just the way you are! Its a journey for sure! Hugs!

I'm also very insecure about my natural hair. It's basically like yours but shorter. I spent the whole summer feeling deathly anxious just going outside(espeically during the day) because I feel unkempt and ugly with my hair. A guy actually stopped me once and flirted with me. And while it did give me a great confidence boost for a little bit, I still feel extremely insecure about my hair. Some people compliment it, but I just dont take it to heart. There's some underlying issues to my self esteem tho, so maybe I'll deal with those and it'll sort itself out.

I am a guy, but i have relatively long hair and I f'n hate my very curl hair, I straighten it once and I loved it, it stayed like that for almlst four months. But one summer, it reall out of nowhere became curly and frizzy, sometimes i just get the intrusive though of shaving my head

You’re beautiful and I’m not saying this lightly. I watched some of your older videos and all the latest ones, saw you wearing different styles, all were splendid And you’re definitely not a loser, miles and miles away from it. You mentioned those videos being a way for you to look back at your life later, see all the way you’ve come. If you do, you will be as impressed as I was. Since I follow you, in just a few weeks I saw you doing and accomplishing more things than many people in years You’re awesome and beautiful and inspiring. Don’t go thinking about yourself what no one else does. See what everyone sees, how amazing you are 🤩❤

So, I'm that weird introverted girl with curly hair from school. When I was young I never bothered with my hair. Luckily that made me grow up without any self insecurities. But now that I'm an adult woman and actually want to care about my appearance, I feel exactly the same as you. It's hard to admit it, but I hate it when my hair is curly I just can't accept it. It feels like it's not me unless I put it in a bun. I thought about shaving it endless times but never yet done it. What's crazy is that I also have grey hairs but they don't bother me as much.

I just discovered you this week on KZbin because I was looking up 2c/3b hair…I subbed right away! ❤️ My hair, and my hair struggles, are so similar to yours. (I did the same thing, frying my hair straight EveryDamnDay of HS….etc) When I decided to embrace my curly hair a few years ago, even family members made comments like “That’s what was wrong with your hair when you were little. We couldn’t get it to do anything.” They had no clue what to do with my “cotton candy” hair. I’m definitely still figuring it out. Unlike straight hair, it’s as if you never know what your hair is going to look like (at least for me). I really appreciate your honesty- because I can relate SO MUCH. I’m so sorry you’re upset about the gray hair too. Most of the women in my family start to go gray in their 20s/30s. I genuinely think it looks great on you! It adds a little more texture and interest. Hope to see more hair content from you! ❤️

PS I’ve had gray hair since I was 20. It’s the worst! People always say they don’t notice but I know it’s extremely noticeable! I think it’s our younger generations that have gotten it so young. Part of me wishes Hollywood would embrace it more and show that it’s ok and maybe make the rest of us not care but it’s so hard.

I know it seems creepy to say that you are beautiful, but real beauty is not what you look like; it is what you ARE, it is the shape of your personality, and yours is outstanding. what you look like is kinda superficial, and will change as you get older, but your personality will always be there, and you will always the kind of person who helps others in your community.
@AlanahCole

Thanks. That is so true. Personality is the most important. Who you are on the inside is what matters. Sometimes it’s hard to remind yourself that but you are so right!!

I looked up videos on this topic because my hair makes me want to scream (its super tight ringlet curls). I tried so hard not to straighten my hair anymore because my hair was so damaged, but after years of putting all this effort into my hair and painstakingly wetting it each morning and styling I just... I hate it, its so frustrating and it makes me feel so ugly to wake up looking like a fucking haystack all the time. I hate it in pictures, I hate it first thing in the morning. I straightened my hair for the first time in years this week and it makes me want to cry how confident and happy I feel with my hair straightened. And there is nothing I can do about it unless I was to super damage my hair straightening it every day. And I'm just so so fucking sad about it.

I'm sorry you feel this way honestly. Of course I can't change how you feel about yourself. & I too have negative thoughts about myself. I think we all do. Actually I will just say I have body dysphoria about my entire self. You really are gorgeous Alanah & I personally love your hair. Again I can't change how you feel about yourself but I will say it can always be worse. So about 5-6yrs ago I started losing my hair on the top of my head right above my forehead & very thin throughout. I've tried many things to get it to grow back & still nothing has worked. I used to have such nice healthy hair before & that was the 1 & only thing I liked about myself so for someone with already existing body dysphoria this extreme hair loss is something that really hurts & it's very embarrassing. & being a woman possibly even more embarrassing because it's not the "norm", though it is actually pretty common. But I will not step 1 foot out of my house without a hat or bandana on to cover up this ugly hair loss. I can not afford a wig & I know they are a lot of work to care for. The only person who I don't freak out about seeing me without a hat or bandana on is my mother. So again I know I can not change how you feel about yourself but it really can always be worse. & you're correct, a person can actually see your gray hairs when they actually just focus on that but when we focus on you, the person, the woman you are, they disappear because we see you. We do not focus on the tiny (btw it's "tie nee not tee nee" lol) details. We just see the wonderful good person you are. I know we all see ourselves differently than others do though. & yes I should be saying this to myself but again our brains just don't work the same way when we see ourselves. Truly, you are a wonderful person, your are a beautiful woman, your hair is gorgeous. Thank you for just being you. & as always, loving the videos 🌹🌹❤️❤️

Ignore all the negative comments they know nothing and they’re ignorant but what’s the stereotypical woman supposed to look like you’re beautiful inside and that’s all that matters. Thank you for sharing this video and appreciate you and everything you represent

You're beautiful either way bcos you're glowing love, passion, friendship, honesty, genuinely possitive emotions more or less. Fullstop. Straightened hair just make you look more hot and sexually desirable, slightely depending also on your make-up and dressing outfit. Kisses and never stop to amaze first yourself.
