Somehow Yuki breaking the chalk is still the most romantic gesture I have seen in anything ever, and its also such a contrast to how natural and intuitively thoughtful vs how Yuki "played" at romance with Torhu. It was never intimate like Torhu and Kyo was but this was an intimate gesture.

Ah the chalk scene, so simple yet so effective. Even in the middle of a presentation he managed to be so considerate of her. Yuki and his smooth moves haha Also the part where Akito was cutting Rin's hair and threatening to blind Haru if she isn't confined is a direct reference to the Brothers Grimm version of the Rapunzel story. I haven't quite figured out if there's a significance for that but i just wanted to point it out😅

39:20 Well don’t forget for added cons text. In season one Hatori stated that over the centuries the bond just gets weaker and weaker. Magic doesn’t last forever. Hatori is suppose to be a dragon but instead he turns into a “sea dragon” aka Seahorse. Kureno it’s suppose to be a big rooster but he used to turn into a small bird and fly. So it’s just the magic it’s weakening.

we all love Yuki and Machi or Haru and Rin, but honestly im gonna give some props to Hiro character development, i mean he start in season 1 as the most anoying and unlikable little shit, then in season 2 he was more tolerable and his conection with rin and his relationship with Kisa make him more likable, but just this scene show how much he has grown, that apology to Kisa and Haru is a level of acontability the previous Hiro would not even imagine to have.

@@bluecherry1011 As a kid with a hot trigger prone to snap and the self loathing afterwards, I've always loved Hiro. Its really enduring to watch his scenes of him growing more considerate or even trying to be nicer. He's not good at it but he is earnestly trying his best.

Ahhhh, I waited so long for this 😆 3 x 3 is my absolute favourite episode. One detail I would like to point out is, that it's so special when Machi wished for the snow to stay, since it was something she hated before. But now she can't wait for it, only because Yuki said he would be there for her and support her with making footprints. It's just way too sweet 🥺

I would like to point out that Akito was not intentionally trying to starve Rin. Kureno stops a maid on her way to deliver a plater of food on Akito's orders. The maid informs him that Rin has been refusing to eat but she HAS been given food to eat. Now whether or not Akito knows if Rin has not been eating the food and is indifferent is another thing thats neither confirmed or denied.

Exactly, unlike most people assume, she was indeed given food and water and that’s because Rin was actually confined for 3 whole months not just few days or weeks as people falsely assume and you can tell by Hiro and Kisa heights Rin went to the main state to talk with Kureno and was caught by Ren during the beginning or middle of January after new year, she missed her graduation which took place in march And the events of this episode actually take place in April, the start of the new semester She was there for 3 months and half 💔💔💔💔

Whenever I think of Machi's backstory, the lyric "I am a perfectionist; and perfect is a skinned knee." (From: "Midlife Crisis" by Faith No More) comes to mind. Also: I wonder how much of Yuki's statements of reassurance to Machi were inspired by his observations of Tohru and the similar statements she would make to him and the other Zodiac members. I guess his "mother" taught him well! /giggle

i keep thinking how hiro has a good family, never got traumatized but akito but he was always involved in what akito did to others. for example, akito hits kisa because hiro told her that he likes kisa (which he never knew the consequences of saying that) and he witnessed akito throwing rin from the second floor.. poor kid

Isuzu is described as objectively beautiful. It's a deliberate choice for Akito to cut off her hair.

The main reason is, I believe, is because her long black hair is similar to Ren's; who Akito obviously hates. It's also why Ren seems to hate Isuzu. They look too similar for her liking. Vanity can cause folks to do horrific things.

Haru is usually a very fun character, but he is really sweet with rin. 🥰 Episode 4 is roller coaster storyline. We are very depressed, stressful, mad, and so happy at the end. I guess why Akito and Ren hate Rin because Rin is beautiful girl. They might be jealous for Rin. It's not mentioned in the story though. 🤔 Anyway I really like the end of epi.4. Rin's story is happy end! 🤗💕

someone has probably already said this but I always though akito hated Rin because she looks so much like Ren. They have similar faces and of course the long black feminine hair, which Akito was denied. and Ren hates her because she just hates any woman that feels threatening to her, even Rin as a nickname is so similar to Ren, and only the boys and akito call her that - the girls all call her Izuzu

i was super proud of hiro this episode. shame is the number one tool of abusers so him coming clean to kisa to get closure and telling haru about rin's situation is really big of him 🥹. also, the reason ren hates rin is because she looks like if akito was allowed to live as a girl. and akito hates rin... because rin looks like ren, and also subconsciously out of envy for the presentation she cannot have. another interesting thing about akito is that after season 3 starts you sort of get more of the other end of her meltdowns... the toddler tantrum JUMPED out this episode

It's really messed up the more you think about it with how Akito was forced to hide her gender identity. Her mother uses a feminity to manipulate others, an ability she isn't allowed to have. Akito has no idea how to form real connections beyond the bond that was given to her and she can't even use the one tool she was born with that she has seen her mother weaponize against her. It's no wonder she views all woman as manipulators and inherently sexual and it terrifies her because she dosen't know how to fight against that.

Super underrated opinion, but Akito is one of my favorite characters in the show (along with Yuki, who's my first). I know she's hateful and responsible for most of the trauma of the Souma, but everything changes whenever shes on screen because shes just so scary and when you see deep down she's just this fucking immature girl with some crazy view of how the world works... She looks so shocked when she notices Haru was really hurting from what she did to Rin and freaks out completely when he is leaving... 😭😭😭 Perfection. Shigure wanting to fuck her up to make her grow up all while he loves her so much just makes so much sense to me, ffs. I love the bond too... Haru was about to go back because of the bond but it was Kureno who gave him the last push so he could leave there. This is such a great scene. Everything is so messy this season!! 😭😭 I'm glad you feel bad for Akito here and there... She's pitiful in all senses of the word. Anyway! Some of the most beautiful Yuki x Machi and Haru x Rin scenes in this episodes!! Cant wait for more :D Been busy but I'm always waiting to have some time to get comfy and watch your reactions to Fruits Basket. Thanks! ❤️

Well it would have been nice to get the full story. But I’m okay with cutting Manabe’s story with his girlfriend. It was and interesting development of his character but not very necessary for the show. Also I love Toruh’s mom but the age gap between her and Katsuya it’s still icky. I’m glad they put more to the side for the OVA
