Kabru and Mithrun's dynamic is legit one of the most entertaining things in the second half of the story. Also, yes, Cithis (the dark skinned elf) is probably the prettiest character in the series LOL

literally so cool how we get a manipulator character who does so for good reasons and is GOOD AT IT. stick as close to the facts as you can and never contradict yourself directly! avoid outright lying always be aware of the social and emotional signals youre sending to form the impression you want! when he told namari about his past to get into the meeting he emphasized the mistakes made by the elven troops and the death of his birth mother, but when convincing the canaries he was telling the same story but played up his connection to their old vice captain rather than bring up a single shortlived woman they would only care about abstractly, if at all.

He was def emotional about it but the guy is too good at hiding his feelings to let it go in front of the elves. It’s smart to use what would clearly be emotional to add credence to what he’s saying, without actually letting his emotions get to him.

When reading the manga we didn't have a voice to go off of for Mithrun and he looked pretty androgynous. A lot of people thought he was a girl for a longest time (for Thistle too). It was a while before any gendered pronouns were used for either in Japanese too. His voice in the anime makes it much more apparent.
