I’ve tried so many many times to sing this song live on stage & it is absolutely impossible w/o choking up & tears running down my face. This song hits my very soul. It’s beautiful, it’s stunning, it’s haunting & most of all…it’s my truth. So very grateful to have found this song.

Hello Alanis, A few years ago, I played this song, your song, at a large yearly meeting for Canadian Mental Health Association Mental Health Clinicians in the Waterloo/ Wellington District in Ontario with the blessing of the Executive Director. I played it as this song represents all that we hope for, for the children, youth, adults and seniors that we support in their journey to heal. Everyone was so moved. The room was absolutely silent except for some tears and crying by many Clinicians and Administrative staff at CMHA WW. Thank you for your words. They guide me everyday as a Mental Health Clinician and I often play this song with people I support, both men and woman, in hopes that your words will cut through the constant negative chatter in their minds about themselves, that haunts them very minute of everyday. Bless you for this gift of song.

This song hits me differently and profoundly after being the sole caregiver to my parents. To all ailing dementia patients, may you find yourselves at the care of people who are unconditionally kind to you, always.

This song really moves me every time I listen to it. At times when my feelings of worth are very low, it is so uplifting and brings tears to my eyes.

My mom passed on recently from neglect and abuse by the people who were supposed to take care of her. She was 60. She is beautiful for ever and always. I was told that there was no chance of court because we wouldn't be able to afford a representative dispite all of the evidence, and witnesses. Police never look into things with the poor here, and I was told this happens a lot to those who can't afford to have their lived ones in good care. I don't think I will keep content as we have been told. Instead of a funeral we had a Celebration of Life, and we played this song as I lit yellow candles, which was her favorite color. This was and is my mother. Torn down she still was so good to everyone else, beaten she would stand beside everyone else, disabled by society she still worked harder than any able body always with love, even when no one was looking or stopping to notice. All around us, she continues to be good, loved, and grand though beyond the veil.
