How the fuck did i discover this song in 2024!?!?! I dont think ive ever heard it before. Alanis Morissette. Why didn't you give the world more of this amazing music?

My best friend is obsessed with THIS Alanis. They don't like the Jagged Little Pill and onwards stuff. I never even knew this existed... I knew she was on You Can't Do That on Television when she was young, but this... this is a bop!

I wonder how many people know that Alanis had two albums before Jagged Little Pill, that were released in Canada only? I know I didn't even know Alanis or Now is the Time existed until I got the Internet back in 1998 ;)

I knew about her being on a tv show for awhile...I didn't know about her first two albums in canada

I only knew about this era in a passing glance of this song's video... years ago. Then I quickly forgot about it, until 2018 when I delved fully into her first two albums. Now, I'm a proud owner of both albums, and can't believe I never really knew about them.

Too Hot Always too hot never too cold, you make your best shot too hot to hold. Never too young, never too old, you gotta go for gold! Hey boy, you wanted all or nothing. Lose the apprehension, baby, and go with the flow ‘cause you know you’ve got to stand up, if you know the answers. You need to blast them straight up, baby, so say what you mean and you mean to say now. You, you don’t have to go and prove it, you just go ahead and do it. Your time is for the takin’, makin’, the best of what you got now! Always too hot never too cold, you make your best shot too hot to hold. Never too young, never too old, you gotta go for gold! Don’t care what they say ‘bout ya. You never throw a hero party, for those who oppose who you chose to be now, maybe, you could feel the power. It’s like a bomb inside your head, that blows if you’re slow when you go to use it. You, you gotta show them that you mean it, you just go ahead and scream it and show them what they’re missin’, listen to what your heart could tell ya! Always too hot never too cold, you make your best shot too hot to hold. Never too young, never too old, you gotta go for gold! And you’ll make it, baby! Always too hot never too cold, you make your best shot too hot to hold. Never too young, never too old, you gotta go for gold! And you’ll make it, baby. Gold! Go ahead and make it baby! Throw your hands through the air and wave ‘em like you just don’t care! Okay, party people in the house, get on it. Reachin’ teachin’ practice what you’re preachin’! Throw your hands through the air and wave ‘em like you just don’t care! Okay party people in the house, with action, action. Movin’ provin’ everything you’re doing! Always too hot never too cold, you make your best shot too hot to hold. Never too young, never too old, you gotta go for gold! You, you don’t have to go and prove it, you just go ahead and do it. Your time is for the takin’, makin’, the best of what you got now! Always too hot, never too cold. Give your best shot! Go with the flow ‘cause you know you’ve got to. Go with the flow ‘cause you know you’ve got to. Always too hot! Take your best shot! Go with the flow ‘cause you know you’ve got to.

@AlexusYoung-t5k Жыл бұрын
Your not kidding, I've never heard it on the radio (just Much Music). I think they were just checking to see if she had what it took ("I know your gonna dig this") so this album was a test run for what would turn out to be a breakthrough record career (that year we rocked the charts with Shania-Country, Celine-Adult Contemporary & Morissette-Rock). We as Canadians ruled the music charts around the world for about a decade with these 3 stars ⭐️.

Her voice actually goes well with this type of genre compared to stuff like oughta know and ironic which are good songs too but her voice was made to do pop like this song
@TylerMusicBoi5 жыл бұрын
I’ve said this all along. She has a lot of soul in her voice that’s perfect for anything dance, R&B and/or pop. I’ve also noticed after JLP, her career really slipped down and it hasn’t ever recovered since. It makes you wonder if she continued making pop on a global scale, where she’d be and how big her celebrity and icon status would’ve gotten.

(If I'm not wrong and if I am please correct me) Too bad is changed music genre when she reached success in her song You Oughta Know. Like that song is great but more music like this would have been awesome too. ;-;

@@TylerMusicBoi JLP was her worst album, but everything after showed true evolution. Everything on JLP molds together and isn't distinct, but take Flavors of Entanglement, where each song has it's own style, mood, and groove.
