Maybe pseudo-goofy, friendly, and trendy, but let's leave "classy" for the Dean Martin's of the world.
@davidkoba9 жыл бұрын
Actually I'm being honest. When compared to other types of comedy nowadays its actually a lot cleaner.
@The5thelemnt9 жыл бұрын
+David Koba I agree! Most of all his comedy is really clever and funny. I really look forward to all of his uploads. He is my favorite late night comedian. these days.
@nexusvexusus40969 жыл бұрын
+David Koba Classy and comedy don't go together unless you're discussing some of the blandest and most unfunny comedy or comedians out there. Those two just don't go together, unless you're maybe a Brit or somebody with higher standards.

@ferret7739 жыл бұрын
+Patrick Staal I'm assuming you're referring to her age. She's only 41. But she has that look to her that's probably going to still be pretty at 71, just in a different way.
@TrolenWu9 жыл бұрын
+Liam O'Quin There is a significant portion of French Canadians who have the "always look the same regardless of age" gene..... I grew up thinking it was normal until I really got to see some anglos age... ;) "Morissette was born June 1, 1974, in Ottawa, Canada,[10] to teacher Georgia Mary Ann (née Feuerstein) and high-school principal Alan Richard Morissette"

It is called "irony of fate" people and the song pretty much decribes situational irony. Irony is not only a rhetorical device but especially in colloquial speech people call it irony when life is playing games with you...
@DissectingThoughts7 жыл бұрын
While you are right that there is such a thing as irony of fate, and that irony isn't merely a rhetorical device, irony of fate still involves an event that is contrary to expectation. For instance, an Amish person dying from being electrocuted is irony of fate, while an Amish person dying from being run over by getting his beard stuck in the wheels of a horse carriage is merely unfortunate. Most of the examples in Alanis Morisette's song don't even qualify as irony of fate. "Rain on your wedding day," for instance, is just a damn shame, not irony of fate.
@bodo8877 жыл бұрын
Imagine you are a girl who was being told all her life that her wedding day is going to be perfect and she is going to be a princess and all the stars will align on that day, birds are singing, sun is shining - basically you can't wait for that day to come! Now after years of struggling to find someone to marry to begin with and a lot of hardship in the relationship, you both finally make it to that wedding day (of course after you turned into bridezilla planning everything meticulously - cause this is your fairytale day!). BUT the unexpected: Rain. Now, of course, it can rain on a wedding day just like on any other day but isn't it ironic how something as trivial as rain can easily ruin all of that particular girl's dreams? She went to any lenghts to make that day perfect but life can just ruin all her efforts at its whim. It is ironic how we humans try to plan everything and have expectations that in the end can be destroyed so easily. That is what Alanis is talking about. That's the irony of life!
@DissectingThoughts7 жыл бұрын
That's not irony though. That's merely tragedy. If the girl moved to a place known for being particularly dry and sunny, like the Sahara desert, and held her wedding day there specifically in order to have a rain-free wedding day, but then it turned out that not only was her wedding day one of the few days it ever rained there, but it also just so happened that at the same time it was sunny back where she moved from, see, that would be irony of fate.

***** Yes and no. I grew up through the 80's and could not stand most of the music. I look back now, and there were some decent bands, but I couldn't name two dozen like I can the 90's. Today? Same thing. There's a few standout bands that I'd pay to see in concert, but if I was only old enough to go to Woodstock 94, that would have been.. as Green Days said "The time of my life".

It's songs like these that make me wish I could go back in time! The 80's-2000 was like the greatest time in music, pop, culture, and the world! I feel like I stepped into an alternate universe, and I'm not happy here!
