Good evening Alan. Well i have to say first and foremost blue is definitely your colour!!!. Now the views, oh my goodness. The colours you capture are incredible. I'm sat here on a dark windy wet evening just filled with joy watching your video. Have you got a special deal with the weather gods. You most certainly get some cracking weather. Great explanations on the routes you take, very informative. Those rolling hills behind you go for miles and miles like sleeping giants ready to wake. Let's hope they stay sleeping when I head down that way for our hike 🚶♀️. Really looking forward to it. I'm glad you like to take your time. I do too. I don't see the point of rushing as I love to take in the views. You're certainly clocking up the miles. Well done you. Absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for the kind words. If I can inspire someone it means alot so thank you 🙏. We all inspire each other don't we. It's such a wonderful community. Your enthusiasm is infectious and I love ya chat on your videos could listen to you all day. Its a beautiful sentiment when you say when you're walking alone you never feel alone....I feel the same when I'm out in the hills, I don't know if it's the surroundings or chatting to camera or taking pics but I've never really felt alone. Thank you for another beautifully filmed video. Take care and I'll see you soon 😊 💗🥾

I had to wait two weeks for that weather but the beauty of retirement is just that, every day is the same, so you can wait, bad weather means bad views and not much filming. I love the community spirit of KZbin, reminds me a lot of the old Myspace days, people are all so supportive and friendly, something I value. The weather is the miserable here now as well but thankfully, it was real nice this morning, so able tor walk down to the gym and back and had a swim too. Fingers crossed for another day like this one ASAP, cheers Alan

@@AlanMETALMAN absolutely magnificent and magical Alan. How are things after the flooding, everyone and where OK?
@AlanMETALMAN3 жыл бұрын
@@TeaInValhalla - Yes, it seemed to go almost as quick as it went but we saw it on the local news and could not believe how bad it was but the new flood defences stood up real well, thankfully. The side path I tried to take down from Causey Pike was an absolute bog, I nearly went down twice and my walking pole kept on getting pushed right down into the mud, so I stuck to the main path, which was really good to be fair.

I really felt sorry for anyone who was off for half term (the previous week) as the weather was pants. I just sit at home and look at the forecast, as soon as I see a good day, I am out, the beauty of being retired. Fingers crossed you hit on some good weather too and get another video shoot in the bag. Thanks very much for watching, take care, cheers Alan

Well done Alan on completing the Coledale Round. I was half expecting you to take a few short cuts but then you might have disappeared into the soft ground! You got superb visibility which stayed with you throughout. Liked your jackets, perhaps blue is your new colour!! Great video and commentary as always. Regards, Ashley

Thanks for watching Ashely and two brilliant days walking to complete the full horseshoe. If you ever wanted to do this yourselves, I would really suggest doing it in two, four summit days to really appreciate it, have time to take in the views and not get too tired. I hope that hip is okay, cheers Alan

@@AlanMETALMAN Alan, that's sounds very wise advice to me! Booked 2 weeks next May near Loweswater so perhaps tackle it then. I have a consultation with ICat specialist tomorrow and will know more then about the outlook for the hip. Trusting and praying it'll be manageable! Going back to the Mournes this weekend for a week break but weather is not too promising. Regards, Ashley

@@AlanMETALMAN yeah I can see that. We were young and in our early 20s then, without a hiking plan. A bus was heading that way to we jumped on. Met some climbers from Kendal, I believe.

Bit of a difference in your kit out for this trip than the last one Alan. Looks like it goes from Fall to "freeze your butt off" pretty quick there, just like here. The colours at 1:14!!!!! 😲 Love love LOVE the map tour. For those that don't know the area, it does wonders to help visualize the route and surrounds. Again with the views at 5:09. We totally feel you on the pacing. We don't get to hike with many other people. The trails we get up to either scare people off, or we're too slow to keep up with the more hardcore crowd. Personally, I think 1mph is a FINE pace to keep (that does include stopping to enjoy views). I don't understand why anyone would want to blast through such beautiful areas as fast as their legs can carry them. Why would you want to get a trip like that over and done with as quick as possible? where could someone possibly have to be getting to that's any better than that?! I'll stop there, as I'm sure I'm preaching to the choir so to speak. I think you get it. What a day indeed Alan. That was an amazing hike! Lovely to get some motivation and inspiration from watching what others are up to. We can totally relate to that!

I see them all the time: I 'have' to do x miles and I 'have' to climb x summits today - I don't get it at all, I just want to hike, chill and enjoy the day and yep, my 1mph pace includes all my filming and photo stops, as I rarely film on the go, to busy watching my feet lol. I hit on real lucky with the weather but I had to wait 2 weeks to get a day like this, the rest of the time it has been pants here. Thanks very much for stopping by, cheers Alan

Hi Alan, loved the video and content. You got a fantastic day with the weather especially considering what it was like the week before. The video was shot beautifully, really showing off the views and autumn colours which were stunning. I believe you have said you weren't too bothered about doing all the Wainwrights but you must have done alot of them, have you ever counted them up?. Always informative with a comical touch which is why your videos are so popular. Loved the new section on fashion by the way Alan, class. Looking forward to the next one. Take care

Thanks for watching Steve and the kind words and funny enough, I just got a book of all 214 Wainwrights where you can record how many you have done and was surprised that I had done 66 of them (some numerous times lol). I would rather walk for enjoyment than meet a challenge but will keep on ticking them off now that I have got this book. Cheers Alan
