Excellent post. Desiccated natural porcine thyroid has always worked for me. But, my new “ MODERN “ doc insisted on the synthetic stuff . I DO NOT CONVERT T-4 to T-3 but to be a “ good little patient” I put up with that useless-FOR ME- crap for nearly TWO MISERABLE, WASTED YEARS. I’m back on NDT now, made for me by a compounding pharmacy. P S…My late husband was a PhD in Endocrinology ( and professor for many years at The University of Michigan) and always felt NDT was the best choice for me. 👍

I've been blessed to have started NDT back in the mid 1980's. It has allowed me to function healthier as a mother, entrepreneur and R E. Broker. Hypo-thyroid symptoms are the worst! It affects the whole family if mom is lethargic, constipated, grouchy, brain-fogged and overweight even after regularly dieting and exercising. Fix the moms and ALL of society improves. ;-)) Too many mother's are hypothyroid. This NDT is the answer. Read: Solved, the riddle of illness, by Broda Barnes and : Hypothyroidism, the Unsuspected illness. Open your mind and understanding.

Women period have hypothyroid. It's due to stress and the natural nature of this society. No woman should have to work so hard with lack of support.

The issue I have had to deal with taking NDT is that my TSH is always low and some doctors don't realize that this is normal. My T3 and T4 are perfect, but I was once refused surgery because of this TSH misunderstanding. I actually had to go to a different hospital. Oh, BTW, "desiccated" means dried, not chopped up.. lol I should say that for years I was very sick with Synthroid and as soon as I switched to NDT I was 'miraculously cured'. Synthroid may convert to T3 but does not ever produce calcitonin which NDT contains. Very important for bones and teeth.\ Great video.. thanks

Finally good info thank you! I've been taking levothyroxine for 2 years I was diagnosed with hashimoto's after I was suffering from fatigue interrupted sleep and burning feet when I go to sleep. The levothyroxine made TSH level normal also t3 and t4 where normal they were normal even before the medication.. but symptoms did not go away.. only yesterday I switched to NP thyroid, I hope that will help with my symptoms.

Thank you so very much for that very information Dr C.. That's the BEST breakdown of med/thyroid hormone imbalance issues I have EVER heard...esp from any ENDO. They have utterly no clue imho and in fact happy to allow me to go on in suffering and let my thyroid die off. This has been a frightening journey to say the least...now there's your verbal dissertation!

Ive been taking ndt for 10 yrs after being diagnosed and put on Levothyroxine. Here I am November 2020 and I have spent 7 months during covid trying to get it but the supply chain has been disrupted. I will not go back on levothyroxine the synthetic. NDT was copied by big pharma in the 80s and it is not good enough leaving many still ill and desperate for the natural one. How cruel is that. Big pharma has pushed it out of the picture or at least to the edges and we are expected to put up with it. Try getting it on prescription in the UK its almost impossible so we are left having to self manage and buy it from abroad.

How about talking Armour after a thyroidectomy and a cycle of RAI. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's and on my follow up after surgery, I was told they found cancer. This is actually quite a lengthy story so I'm going to leave it at that.

Yes. You should take it. Keep it on a level to where you can sleep. If you can't sleep... You are taking to much. I am not a Dr.. But a health reformer

Blood testing - FT4 should be midrange and FT3 should be top quarter of the range. TSH should be fully suppressed around zero.
@taracarney41745 жыл бұрын
Dr. Christianson actually suggests in this video and his other videos and writings that a healthy thyroid will naturally maintain TSH around 1. Here is an article from his website that explains more. pin.it/p6moiegwxarm6d

O started suffering from hyperthyroid after giving birth to my daughter. I was given radiation to shrink my thyroid 18 years ago. Since then I’ve suffer from hypothyroidism. I’ve had blood work done every 3-6 months for the past 18 years. I recently heard that taking hormone replacement as Levothyroxine Can cause joint pain, is that true? I have been suffering from joint pain for a few years now and every year it gets worse. Would it be safer to take desiccated thyroid extract?

Read the insert of the medication. It can also eat your cartridge away , and you'll need knee replacements.

I’m only taking 1/8 of a pill every morning of ndt. And for about two hours or so I get a lot of energy and anxiety I don’t like it. It feel like drinking a lot of coffee. Now what? I know it’s beyond a low dose of the medication why is it affecting me like that?
