I have not figured out why he is not being played on country stations. Especially Testify. I have been a fan for years, and I love all kinds of music. One reason I like Alan's music is because you can't define it or stick it is one genre.

It's all good winnetouch. This does not even closely resemble country to me but it is a darned good song. I happen to like country infused with others genres but songs like this are just pure rock with very little that can be considered country. Just my opinion. It seems there are no limits to what can be considered country these days. Great music is great music and this is for sure great music regardless of how it is classified.

How is blues slide guitar not coutry? There's more to country than just Garth Brooks or Johnny Cash. OK I admit this has some rockish overtones. And yeah... His other songs are also a bit country oriented... Especially Testify.

How is this guy listed on CMT as a country artist? There is nothing close to country about this. I don't know much about Canadian country acts to know if he has other songs that are more country or not so I will assume this is simply a crossover song. That I can see but if all his music is like this I can not see how in the hell he is listed as a country artist. Really good artist but if this is his style it is not country.

its folk music, and he plays with dean brody often, it is country in some ways, real country more so then 99% of what radio plays thats for sure
