Part of me wants to become a better chess player and learn the main lines, but part of me just wants to go full gambit mode.

Play Gambits to increase your tactical skills. Play main lines to increase your positional skills.
@loosehorsemedia3 күн бұрын
The two aren't mutually exclusive - learning to play with the initiative is a huge part of understanding chess. Give yourself 12 months to just play gambits, don't worry too much about results and see how you get on. Guarantee your opponents won't enjoy facing you and you'll be a better chess player in 12 months' time.

Thank you William.. i became obsessed with your wild gambits especially with white.. my repertoire changed 360°.. But in black i have no wild gambit against d4.. is there any gambit especially against Queen's gambit

Graif has a modified budapest gambit and benko against d4

@@flintstone2069 I play his Budapest, to some success - the main downside that I've found to it is that white has a lot of options to just return the pawn and settle for rough equality, but I'm happy to take that with black, especially with the side benefit of them being off their usual opening.

If you turn 360 degrees, you end up facing exactly the same direction

what would you play against the Nimzovitch?
@GambitMan3 күн бұрын
Hi, great question! I would recommend e4 Nc6 d4 d5 Nc3 dxe4 and d5! At worst, white is getting their pawn back with no trouble. And you have the likely trap of Ne5 Bf4 Ng6 Bg3 with the threat of Nb5! :)
